Hotel La Licorne

Hotel La Licorne, whose construction date back to 1610, has twenty delightful rooms around his sculptural staircase. Its complete renovation was undertaken in 2007 with the famous house decoration Flamant, the rooms being redone enjoying harmoniously combined with contemporary charm the historical aspect. A suite for the disabled has also been designed. Much attention has been paid to the well being of guests - a holiday in the Licorne is a source of tranquility and comfort. La Licorne is also equipped with four comfortable suites. All rooms have a view either charming historic Lyons Hall or on the patio of the hotel, and always in the background forest. Christophe Poirier, talented young chef, went through the most prestigious restaurants. It is a culinary soul he has instilled in these places, and professionals do not make a mistake in awarding him the quality of young talent Gault et Millau 2009.

Perfect place for a luxury break

What a quaint and beautiful place this is. We stayed there for a week over summer and have a marvellous time. Felt very safe with all the covid measures in place. Bedroom was stunning, I think we must have been upgraded to be honest as our supposedly standard room was palatial! Spa area was lovely although you might need to book in advance due to the pandemic and there is an additional charge for weekend use which we were not aware of when booking. Luckily it wasn’t too busy when we were there so we managed to book a slot most days. All in all a great little hotel with friendly and helpful staff set in the centre of one if the most picturesque towns I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended.

Hotel Le Grand Cerf

The hotel from the 17th century has re-opened its doors in September 2009. This house, belongs to the history of Lyons la Foret. We wanted to give it new life in the purest tradition of the forest of Lyons, one of the most beautiful beech forests in Europe. It is in this spirit that designed the decoration of this former coaching inn, now a hotel charm. LE GRAND CERF, fully renovated, thus based on the theme of the Forest:the charm and warmth of the wood ... Thirteen rooms are available at the Hotel LE GRAND CERF all tell the story of a hamlet in the forest. Chef Christophe Poirier offers a traditionnal cuisine at Le Bistrot du Grand Cerf.

Nice hotel but bit disappointed overall

Lovely room and hotel was a shame the staffing was very limited both times we went to spa there were no people available to collect towels, book a massage or ask any questions. The hotel felt disjointed from the spa and feel the hotel was advertised as a spa hotel with pool on site - which is not the case. You must cross the road from Grand Cerf to the licorne hotel to access the spa. Not ideal in your robe and swimsuit! Also restaurant in Grand Cerf was closed and licorne restaurant fully booked! Perhaps be good if one restaurant is closed then we as hotel guests at Grand Cerf have preferencial availability at licorne restaurant? Also no parking and the spa was in need of a good clean and some more towels and robes as we're none when we went

Fabulous

Wonderful place to stay in a beautiful chateau within a picturesque setting. We had a very comfortable bedroom with an unexpectedly modern en-suite. Breakfast in the original kitchen was great with bread, croissants, home made jams, honey, etc. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Lovely village

We were the only ones in this hotel - 3 of them in a row. This one has as yet not got a classification. And the restaurant closes Wed and Thursday. Room would have been fine if the Wi-fi worked. Only a very small wardrobe with just one hanger and one trouser hanger. The shower door did not close and also there was no shelf to put soaps or shampoos. And no where to put anything in the bathroom either. So at 95€ for the room a pit pricey for less than the basics. However charming village and well worth a visit
