You can tell these people treasure the history of this diner. I loved the "old-timey" feel! It was the perfect place to have a relaxing dinner of yummy comfort food after a chilly day of traveling. The servers were very friendly, and the food was scrumptious! I especially recommend the roast beef with gravy and either mashed potatoes or fries, both smothered in gravy. In other words, get lots of gravy. ;) And be prepared to eat a lot or take home leftovers! Wow!

Great homemade bagels and muffins! Friendly service and reasonable prices.... A huge variety of bagels to choose from and teas and coffees as well... Will definitely make this a regular stop on our way through Vermont! Even brought a dozen bagels home with us! I highly recommend the salt bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese or the maple bagel with cinnamon raisin cream cheese :)

This classic small town ice cream window service jewel continues to serve some of the best ice cream in the area. My favorite is the moose tracks hard serve in a sugar cone, and the "small" is more than enough! The servers are pleasant and efficient, and there are park benches nearby for a leisurely enjoyment of your cone.

Was stopping here quite often on my commute to grab coffee. One morning I decided to try a pastry to go. It was a cream cheese danish with cheese and vegetables. When I took a bite on my way to work it tasted funny so i immediately spit it out and looked at what i was eating to find it moldy. I called a few times and left messages on their phone line to let them know and also so they didnt serve the other pastries to other customers. I never got a call back and havent gone there since. The correct customer service would have been to call me back and apologize for potentially getting me sick! But no. So I won't ever go back.

Serving Dinner Monday-Saturday, Breakfast every morning, Lunch Friday - Sunday.
We ate dinner here a couple weeks ago. The food was fine and the service was friendly. But I recommend first doing an internet search for the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville, which is at the same location and has the same owners. Sorry, Tripadvisor won't let me say why.

When you are hungry and just need a cup of coffee and a donut - you know what you are getting. No surprises. They keep it clean. Usually staffed by two ladies, very friendly. Back of a Mobil Station.

Just walking into Sweet Basil Cafe is welcoming and we always feel at home. Reservations are honored and we usually get our favorite table. The food is delicious. My husband lives for Chipolte Chicken Salad or the Masala. I like to sample all of Delise's new additions...or standbys; trout appetizer, artichoke dip, piccata, scampi.
The smell inside on a winter evening is terrific and yummy. Never ever ever a bad meal. Beautiful presentation as well, which always seems important to me.

My fiancé and I stopped at the Pizza Man after a long bike ride at the Kingdom Trails. I had the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo and he had a Calzone. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. Even though we were very hungry after the ride, we couldn't eat it all. Later the day, we went back for ice-cream. They had ice-cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, sundaes, lots of flavors and a patio with chairs. It's a nice place with great food and very reasonable prices.
Pizza Man always delivers a fantastic meal. I have ordered their Steakbomb for takeout 2x now. After the first half, I cant stop enjoying the sandwich so I end up eating the whole thing. Onion Rings go great with the Steak Bomb. Staff in the...MoreGreg, Thank you for the great review. The Steak Bomb is my personal favorite, I'm glad to hear you enjoy it as well. I'm also happy to hear that my staff has taken great care of you, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Every time we are in the NEK, we have to stop for pizza, and this is the place. The crust and the sauce make it so good. Draft beer and free refills on soft drinks make it even better.

Hoagie's has established itself as the best pizza/pasta in the northern part of Vermont. They are mostly situated in the Northeast Kingdom (Lyndonville, Derby, Newport), but you can find it also in Morrisville and Essex Center. We've been to all of them, and it's tough to find better. This one in Lyndonville has expanded recently - they've added an ice cream scoop shop on one end, and a tavern/sports bar on the other. Their pizza is better than chain pizza establishments, and their pasta is superb. Probably the sauce makes it that way. The best marinara we've had anywhere. You will not be disappointed. Food is good, the portions are generous, and the service is very friendly.
