I have been fortunate to have the chance to visit Thailand several times, and in the process taste Thai food in some of the best restos in Bangkok, Pattaya, Ayutthaya, and Phuket. What I noticed and appreciated about Thai cuisine is the consistency in terms of taste, balance in flavors (sweet, salty, spicy, and sour), and beauty in presentation regardless of wherever I eat. I rarely eat in Thai restos in the Philippines but the times I have eaten, I was pleased because they were comparable to the ones Iâve tried in Thailand. But I would have to say that my recent dining experience in Aroi in BF Parañaque wasnât that pleasing. I ordered the classics and three of my favorites - pad see ew, bagoong rice, and sticky rice and I would have to say that they were not at all Thai for me. For one, there was definitely a lack of Thai flavor and the only taste I was able to experience was salty. There was not even a slight tinge of spice in the food. Even the presentation wasnât impressive.I was most disappointed with the sticky rice because it lacked the coconut milk flavor. The sauce was good but they could have added more mangoes. I also noticed that the resto was understaffed. There was only one waitperson so it took a while before I was attended to for the menu and for my order. All in all, the quality of food and service was just average and I do not think I will be dining in Aroi again anytime soon.

for delicious chicken bagoong rice that is not expensive, eat here at Dusadee Thai. Place is a hole in the wall with some parking at the front.

Fried Chicken Pandan is a must try. The fried pork spring Rroll and the fresh spring roll had a home-cooked goodness. All in all, it is our favorite date place to eat near our home in Paranaque where good restaurants are hard to find. The prices are reasonable, service is good, ambience is a bit small but presentable and gives you a Thai look and feel inside SM mall.
