FILLING STATION. The name seems to refer to a gas station but it actually refers to the historic 50's type diner located at 5012 P. Burgos St. in Makati. The restaurant is the brainchild of an ex-US navy chief cook who decided not to move back to the US w
A nice themed restaurant in one of the busy streets of Makati. This street is lined with other themed restaurants so one whould really rely on quality service to make sure that customers come back.I came in to have lunch. First impression, too quiet for a restaurant. No one to greet the customers except for the guard in the second floor. Entrance is too dark and too much decoration that staff wouldn't even recognize that there is an actual customer sitting in one of the benches. I was literally standing beside Colonel Harland David Sanders holding a KFC bucket and for 10 minutes no one ushered me. I think they are more of the evening restaurant where all the lights are on, but as informed they are open 24 hours. I choose the table near the window, it's more diner feeling because of the seat covers. There's an old phone on my table, I'm not sure if that's supposed to be how I would get the attention of the staff. There's this distinct smell coming from the customers and the smokers lounge (I'm not sure if it's still being used) but the AC was poor so just use your imagination. It's just good that it was raining outside so the weather is not that hot. Staff were trained, they know their menu intensively and they know what to offer their guests. I was also asked how I wanted my meat, which is a plus since some restaurants I've been to never dared to ask. Staff were friendly and with all smile even if they are working long shifts. While waiting get amused by all the decorations on the ceiling, the wall, basically everywhere. It's a mixed up decor. You'll see Archie and DC jammed together. Elvis Presley sitting next to the bar. Wonder Woman standing near a vintage car. Food was great, you get what you paid for. Serving was huge, looking around most customers are foreigners so they do offer huge portions. My meat was chared the perfect way, well done but not burnt and dry. There's juice on every bite. Another thing that caught my attention was the lady manager. I'm not sure who she was, but she was shouting at the attendant who was mopping the wet floor. Not a good management skill, specially in front of the customers. It maybe tagalog but people would still understand the expression and the tone of the voice. On my way out and down the stairs they have this small shop that sells liquor, cigars and snacks. Why is the air conditioning strong in that small place! But anyways, I was hoping to find souvenir keychain, magnet or postcards but again there's none. I hope they'd decide to sell those for souvenir junkies like me. All in all it was a nice experience, with minor improvements needed.

Styled after the original Long Bar at Raffles Singapore where the famous Singapore Sling was created, the Long Bar at Raffles Makati is a warm and lively place to enjoy one of our signature cocktails.
Having previously been in Raffles in Singapore and Cambodia, I was really keen to see how the Manila destination would shake up.After a long week in Manila, I decided to go to the 840 pesos happy hour - all you can drink...and wasn't disappointed. You can choose from a wide range of local and international bottled beers, whilst also a choice of 4 or 5 cocktails and house red or white wine. For me it's a great value, the ambiance, the singer in the corner, the high level of service and even the small complimentary chef's plate is a lovely touch.Away from the madness of Manila and Makati in general, The Long Bar is an oasis of relaxation and done properly, exactly what you would expect from Raffles. Will 100% go and visit again when back in town.

We went to Cafe Havana because we wanted to have a drink outdoors. The crowd was dodgy and the waitstaff was arrogant and lazy. They act as if they are doing you a favor. And where was the manager? They charged our drinks at the same price, even if some were non-alcoholic beverages. Will never return. There are better places: with transparent pricing, professional and customer-friendly staff.

A very rare spot in Metro Manila that is a real bar by world standards in the sense that you can sit and enjoy your drink there and be in Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco, Sydney...Classic without all the seemingly posh but immaterial...Classic ambience with Peninsula standards... bar staff that know hospitality, drink knowledge and.... service.

4 of us visited one weekday and enjoyed a great meal...The service was 1st class with drinks and our order taken quickly once we were seated...Shared starters of onion rings and calamari were tasty and sauces very good...Main courses of chilli...fajitas...pork.. and chicken were ample and good value for money....Well worth a visit....

Located on the rooftop, Antidote features bespoke cocktails and tapas. The highlight of the bar is a luminescent jellyfish tank, where the ambient glow of these creatures accentuates with the backdrop of the stunning cityscape.

This is the real thing. Mexican food in Manila with home made..."hand made" tortillas. Unbelievable.. I spent too much money, too much time and brought too much home. If you're looking for a taste of home (provided it's Mexico or USA) this place is for you. Come Hungry.
