Always reliable and good, my local restaurant of choice. Have the sinigang and the bamboo rice. And leave room for dessert (sikreto ni maria clara)

Itâs rare that I go back to the same place to eat during my travels, but thatâs exactly what I did here. For the breakfast lovers only. Highly recommended!!

Dined here at their SM Megamall Fashion Hall branch last March 9, 2019 with my wife and son. (I think weâve dined at Ooma in various branches around 4 times already since start of this year.)What we particularly like whenever we dine there are their: (1) Tempura - At P395 for 7 pieces, I think this is the best deal in town compared to other japanese restaurants, e.g., Watami (which only has 5 pieces); and (2) House Chahan at only P99 per cup which is very generous serving, good for two people already. They also serve house tea.For those who love Tempura we highly recommend this place.

After reading several positive reviews our expectations were high. We chose the seafood set menu teppanyaki which was not cheap considering we are in Manila. Seafood was ok but fish was tasteless. Service was good & friendly plus ambience is pleasant but would not rush back .Dear selwyna_13,Thank you for taking the time to share your dining experience. At Senju, we pride ourselves in offering the highest levels of care and service to all our guests. It is evident that we have fallen short of the expectation that we have set for ourselves and you are certainly entitled to expect. Please be assured that your feedback has been noted and shared to our culinary team so we may review and improve on. Once again, we thank you and we hope you will allow us the opportunity to redeem ourselves by welcoming you back to our restaurant.Yours sincerely,Lionel KDirector of Food & Beverage

We reserved one of the two function rooms at Vikings-SM Megamall. The function room can accomodate around 20 persons. There are high chairs that are available but on a first come-first serve basis so you better get one immediately if you are bringing a toddler or child with you. There are also colorful plastic plates for kids. I always go for fresh salmon and tuna on this kind of buffet. There are the usual greens and salads with choices of dressings. Chinese, Filipino, American and pastas are available. Desserts consist of ice creams, cakes, chocolate & strawberry fondue fountain, local sweets like puto bumbong, bibingka, sweet bananas, fruits such as mango, watermelon, pineapple, & melon. However, the buffet may become too crowded during the first couple of hours as guests rush in. Long lines may be experienced to avail of popular food. If you do not prefer to que in line, I suggest you let it pass and go to the not too crowded areas like the japanese sushi area or salad table first then wait until the crowd dispense. For beer lovers, Carlsberg beers can be found in the mini freezer in the drink bar but these can be gone quickly as only limited numbers are available. If consumed you can just avail of the craft beer in the beer dispenser. Self serve free drinks include: cucumber juice, ice teas, softdrinks, fruit water. Overall, you will find something you will like and will never be hungry in this buffet restaurant. .

A return visit for lunch, after a few years absence and the dependability of Yabu didnât disappoint. I ordered the 80g pork rosu (loin) katsu set, which comes with bottomless rice and shredded cabbage (plus the yummy sesame dressing), miso soup, fruit and of course, the delicious, signature âgrind your ownâ sesame seed and sauce mix. The meal didnât disappoint; service is prompt and efficient, the place is nice and clean. Great stop for a decent lunch to fuel a shopping trip to Mega Mall!

Dinner here on my most recent visit to Manila. It is clear to me that this place pretty much lives on past reputation. Service was nearly abysmal on our dinner for 8. The items we ordered came out in haphazard, uneven fashion. We ordered a pricey bottle red wine, but it arrived almost towards dessert. Really? Wine needs to be delivered/opened in minutes. Service managers never checked on us. I travel to Manila for work several times a year and used to really like ShangRila Ortigas, however experiences such as this simply reinforces why I do not stay at Shang anymore. Actually, the waiters NEVER asked us about what anyone in our party would like to have as a beverage.I write this review as someone who has stayed at EDSA Shang many times.Price wise, the restaurant is relatively cheap given the exchange rate. There are just other Chinese restaurants in the area that can deliver food just as good, with better service...if you are out for an upscale experience.Dear IT-Expert,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please know that we are always committed to providing the finest service and facilities to our guests who hopefully will leave with many fond memories, however, it is evident that we have fallen short of the expectation that we have set for ourselves and you are certainly entitled to expect. The ramen is very delicious and portions are huge. The place is small and fills up quickly. It is not unusual to have a long wait at lunchtime and dinnertime.

Chefs take centre stage at HEATâs open theatre kitchens. Enjoy a vast selection of culinary specialties cooked a la minute for an engaging restaurant experience in a resort-like environment. Location is within the Edsa Shangri-La at the Lobby Level, Tower
Came by for Sunday ala carte brunch before the lunch buffet started. We've dined at HEAT at this time several times this year, as this was a convenient location for seniors who we are with. Even after repeated reiterations of our preferred seating by the entrance, the female hostesses kept on insisting us on different seats that were either far off from the entrance and near the buffet serving area (even if we're having ala carte), or an area also near the entrance, but was darker and colder. We understand the seats that we preferred were allocated for buffet diners, but a little consideration could have been better as we arrived an hour and a half before the lunch buffet schedule, had seniors and a child with us. A senior member of the waiting staff even nodded in approval when we were selecting our preferred seats, but somehow these hostesses wouldn't bulge. We eventually got seated to our preference when a male waiter who recognized my companions finally took care of us. As we finished our meals, I noticed that the restaurant was no where near full and it wouldn't have made a difference if those waitresses had just seated us where we wanted to in the first place.I also encountered another waitress who'm I've given instructions to in verifying our order, who I saw just casually walk away afterwards and I later saw started to assist another diner and never came back. Prior to this, the waiters who initially assisted me were mostly unfamiliar with the ala carte menu. There were at least a couple of instances when the waitresses just chatted between each other before punching our orders onto the system, which just defeated the purpose of us arriving early and trying to order in advance.Another mix up happened with our orders, where one of the waiters assumed that our "Japanese bento" was being ordered from the Japanese restaurant upstairs, when the order was meant to be the "Japanse bento" breakfast set found on their ala carte menu. Most of the food, while tasted and prepared mostly authentic, somehow tastes flat and unremarkable towards the end.Strolled around the buffet area as they began to open, and didn't think the selection was worth it for their Sunday lunch price tab. While I do agree with a recent review that most waiters here are entitled (reading that recent review only sparked up my mind to write this now), they were still a few of them (mostly in white and denim) who are attentive and took their job seriously. These guys did good to compensate as we finally got settled in, after the terrible experience upon arrival. The waiting staff looked a little understaffed. For a restaurant at a "5 star hotel" with the kind of service I described, certainly unacceptable.Dear Disso,Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Please accept our sincerest apologies. At Edsa Shangri-La, Manila, we pride ourselves in offering the highest levels of care and hospitality to all our guests, however, it is evident that we have fallen short of the expectation that we have set for ourselves and you are certainly entitled to expect. Please be assured that your experience during this time has been discussed with our operations team so we may review and ensure to improve on. Once again, thank you and we hope you will allow us the opportunity to redeem ourselves by welcoming you back to our hotel.Yours sincerely,Lionel KDirector of Food & Beverage

We eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. Fast service, generous portions, reasonable prices, and excellent food all around. It's our go-to-place. We've been to Din Tai Fung in Taipei and can say that this branch in SM Megamall, Metro Manila, can do its parent proud.
