Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourgish: Esch-Uelzecht pronounced [ˈæʒ‿ˈuə̯ltsəɕt], German: Esch-an-der-Alzette or Esch-an-der-Alzig, French: Esch-sur-Alzette) is a commune with town status in south-western Luxembourg. It is the country's second "city", and its second-most populous commune, with a population of 33,286 inhabitants. It lies in the south-west of the country, on the border with France and in the valley of the Alzette, which flows through the town. The town is usually referred to as just Esch; however, the full name distinguishes it from the village and commune of Esch-sur-Sûre which lies 45 kilometres (28 miles) further north. The country's capital, Luxembourg City, is roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) to the north-east.

I have visited this family run restaurant in 1985 for the first time. Within 30 years I never got disappointed, and I will surely still return.Excellent pizzas and pastas, as well as nice grilled meat or fish, you will always love it. The menu will change seasonally, and in autumn they serve very tasty "marcassin"(wild boar) or moules (mussels), in spring time special asparagus dishes are served.

Very interesting and great choice of italian food. A very varied specials board, not sure how often it changes.Large restaurant, open plan and quite noisy. Not for an intimate dinner.Good portion sizes.I had seafood pasta, which came on top of a very soft pizza bread base (bit unexpected).Desserts looked good, i was too full to do one justice.

Was looking forward to my burger today as they had always been good. What a disappointment when it come as, a lot smaller that before, and their so called Piri Piri sauce was ketchup with a few drops of Tabasco! Well the truth is that there are many more burger bars in the country that are much better and if they donât improve, thatâs exactly where people will go.Sadly NO longer recommend

We were the only two tables.Half of the menu was not available. The rest was average (and very small portion) Absolutely nothing was Michelin star worthy. Service was appalling and the young lady had no clue about the dishesVery expensive for no reason.Nice view and decoration

Stumbled across this one on a stroll from our hotel, what a bit of luck! Excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. Would recommend a visit if in the area.

The Moustache restaurant was created for you, to make you feel at home. Good food with seasonal products, nothing better to do a culinary trip around the most represented countries in Luxembourg. By late afternoon, come enjoy our famous "palettes apero" a
I chose this restaurant in Esch based on the Tripadvisor rate and pics. I was very pleased with the good background music and the deco itself. The service and the food were really good. Portions are big for a good price.

Restaurant-pizzeria Stella Rosa was a surprise to me. It is located in a calm neighborhood. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes it cozy and elegant. I was welcomed by the host, who speaks English, and settled me in a very good table. The menu is big and with a great variety of dishes. The waitress are very welcoming, helpful and polite. The meals are huge, tasty and well cooked. I had a calzone, which made my plate look small. The wine was also good. The same is applied to dessert: enormous Chocolate mousse. The price is fair and good. And finally the soundtrack is amazing (Queen, Bryan Adams among other classics). I really recommend this restaurant. If I could suggest: add an English menu. None of the waitress spoke English, hence I had to "Google Translate" everything I needed. Though they were extremely helpful, I know this makes other people waiting. Still, I will definitely go back. There are more dishes I need to try. Hello, I remember you, thank you for your comment, and thank you for your smile ;-) Because although it is always us that are noted, we also appreciate the sympathy of our customersI hope to see you again soonthx for all Guillaume

This was just a great discovery. The restaurant itself is pure good taste with elevated simplicity in decor. The service is impeccable and the hostess (owner?) was very friendly and accommodating. They took us in last minute on a weekend evening despite the fact that there had been some technical problem with it restodays booking and it had not been saved in their system. The outdoor terrace includes dining space as well as a pretty space to relax and sip a drink, before or after the meal.A rare find in Esch. The restaurant is easily reachable since close to the train station, and also has its own parking.Despite it being within the context of âResto Daysâ, thus offering a set menu at a super-friendly price, the choice on this menu was amazing, with many little extras dishes and nibbles.Argentinian prawn tails, lamb cooked to perfection with a light polenta and fig sauce, dorade carpaccio with strawberries, beef gravlax, and a sublime sort of pavlova/fruit salad ball for desert amongst other options.Simply wonderful from beginning to end! Also, a great selection of wines (also by the glass), and chosen specifically for the dishes proposed.Iâll most definitely return to explore more of the à la carte menu with eagerness â¥ï¸Thank you!

I went to the restaurant Postkutsch with my wife keeping in mind some previous evaluations claiming the staff was arrogant and unfriendly, and to make it short, we did not experience this at all.We had chosen the 5 dishes Tentation menu, actually the only menu that was available, but where you have 2 or 3 options to choose from per dish. I opted for the 3 glasses of wine extra, apéro included. The amuse-bouche was an excellent vegetables soup accompanied by two scampis. For the starter we chose the suggestion, which was a small part of a Saint Pierre with a chestnut sauce. Except for the quantity, this dish was great. After a trou normand, we continued with an amazingly soft Black Angus fillet.A true highlight was the enormous cheese trolley, with a felt 50+ different cheeses. Concerning the dishes you get high-quality food for good value, although the cuisine is not overwhelmingly original (but is more like a traditional, somewhat old-fashioned Bocuse style cuisine). The wine extra however looks overpriced. The restaurant decoration could also be qualified as oldfashioned and in the need of a slight refresh, but it is also very characteristic of this restaurant, as it remained unchanged during the last 25 years (my last visit) in spite of a move in 1995.The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and some were even funny - or at least ready to accept a joke from my side.Overall a nice rediscovery, and I can recommend without any doubt.
