Nice hotel in the heart of Lunenburg. Close to everything. The staff very absolutely amazing. If you arrive early you have to find a paid parking spot on the street but you do not have to pay from 5pm to 10 am. The rooms are nice if not a little used. Amazing views of the bay. Will stay here again!

Located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, The Mariner King Inn majestically stands in the heart of Old Town Lunenburg. The Inn, built in 1830, has undergone extensive renovations restoring the old and melding it with the needs of today's travellers. The Inn has three rooms and two suites in the original building, while the Cranberry and Candy Apple additions add six suites and three rooms with a more contemporary, mariner theme in mind. All rooms have luxurious, environmentally conscious and allergy free queen or king size beds, en-suite bathrooms, WiFi, TV (dvd), minibar, safe, telephone, and air-conditioning. Other amenities include good morning breakfast buffett, business center, exercise room, cosy parlour, winter garden, and laundry facility.
We truly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We arrived after the office closed, but were greeted with a welcome letter and clear guidelines about how to access our room. Effort has been made to preserve the historical integrity of the inn while integrating the comforts of modern life. The location was convenient for attending our concert at The Lunenburg Opera House. The room was comfortable and clean. The inn managed to provide a delicious breakfast in a COVID safe manner. The dining area is bright and spacious. We will certainly plan to return.

A peaceful seaside destination in a woodland setting; just one minute from historic Lunenburg. You'll hear the waves lapping at the shoreline from your choice of accommodation - a cozy cottage, housekeeping unit, or comfortable motel room. In the morning have coffee on the beach or in our pond-site sitting area while the sea gulls and red-winged blackbird greet the day.Families will love the Atlantic View's ample green space and beach where children can run, play in the waves and swim. This is a perfect location for vacationing sea kayakers and cyclists, and golfers will have a spectacular and challenging nine-hole course just over the hill from us. Historic Old Town Lunenburg, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its exceptional architecture, natural beauty and working waterfront, is only 1.5 km away.
The room is fine. The wifi is iffy. The motel is located just a few minutes beyond a high hill overlooking Lunenberg. This same high hill provides one of the best glimpses of old town Lunenberg. The motel itself does have nice views of the Atlantic Ocean as well as a pond behind the rooms.

We stayed two nights. The motel is an older establishment with the rooms in parallel blocks up the hill behind the house/reception, and well away from the road. Comfortable, very clean, room with good beds, small bathroom, alcove for tea/coffee making and including a microwave. Opening windows, parking at the door. Being so far from the road it was very quiet, and windows could be opened for nice fresh air. The motel is about 1.5km from the old town, a very pleasant walk. There is a supermarket next to the motel, and a Tim Hortons across the road from that. At the time we stayed the biggest bonus was that you were removed from the dreadful smell in the old town (caused by ongoing drainage problems) though hopefully that is all fixed by now. Lunenburg, apart from being an interesting historic town (and in that vein, don't miss nearby Mahone Bay which is very beautiful), is a good place from which to explore Western Nova Scotia, and is far cheaper and easier paced than Halifax.

All seven rooms in our our establishment have absolutely outstanding views overlooking the Lunenburg Harbour.
First off, the seafood chowder would have been enough! More meat ( scallops, fish, clams etc) to turn it into a meal by itself. But we then had the Lunenburg Scallop dinner. ..not to be confused with the Atlantic scallop plate. Top this off with the Service of a lovely young lady named Emma and you’ll have experienced a great time.

Somewhere between a boutique Inn and a gracious home sits the Bluenose Lodge offering elegant hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. Celebrating 75 years of continuous service in the UNESCO World Heritage designated town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Spend an evening in our elegant historic inn and enjoy the ambiance of yesteryear. Bluenose Lodge features 12 individually decorated guestrooms. Our newly re-opened dining room serves breakfast and supper to inn guests and members of the public. Bluenose Lodge is located a short 5 minute walk to the harbour and the historic old town where guests might see the inn's namesake, the Bluenose II, in its home port located beside the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Lunenburg itself is a charming community known for its shops, boutiques, restaurants and its arts and music festivals. Bluenose Lodge is a great base for discovering the entire South Shore of Nova Scotia - a short drive to Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay, Chester, many beaches, golf courses, and a wide array of other outdoor activities.
I had the recent privilege of staying at the Bluenose Lodge for a long weekend with dear friends. The food in the dining room was beyond exceptional and the new owner, Mark Trask, has done wonders in reinvigorating the Inn and instilling a comfortable and welcoming environment. Can’t wait to go back!

Lovely rooms, the loft room in particular has a jacuzzi and a very European style. Staff are pleasant and helpful. You’re one block away from all of the restaurants and gift shops. The hotel took a big hit during Covid and is demolishing their restaurant, but there are plenty of greats places to eat nearby.

First off the lady at check in, Jenny was super nice and friendly. It's a small thing but sometimes it makes a big difference. The room was clean and stocked with extra pillows and fans which was great. The room was very big so we didn't feel cramped at all. The hotel was dated which wasn't really a big deal except for the price. It was over $160 with no breakfast. The wifi worked really well so that was a plus. I would go back if I was stuck but not because the place was poor or anything the price was really steep.

Loaded with Secrets Smugglers Cove was a great experience. It provides a personal touch big hotel chains cannot. The proprietor and staff are very friendly and helpful. It is perfectly located in the picturesque small city of Lunenburg. The rooms are very clean and accommodating. You can stay away from the hustle and bustle but still have a short 1 hr drive to Peggy’s Bay or Halifax.

The Salt Shaker Deli and Inn, is one of Lunenburg's most beloved destinations for local residents and visitors alike. Award winning dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients from the Deli makes staying upstairs in the cozy four room Inn an easy choice. Newly renovated rooms with breathtaking views of the historic Lunenburg harbour. Please note that like most other accommodations in this Unesco town, we do not have a parking lot so the option is street parking or the town's waterfront lot. Also, we are located on the second floor and are currently unable to accommodate mobility issues.
Check in was easy at the deli below the rooms. A flight of stairs up to the room but not particularly difficult. The room was beautifully decorated with a small but more than adequate bathroom with a good shower. The view from the room across the harbour was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and we both enjoyed a good sleep. Relatively little storage for clothes, but as we were there only for one night, that was not a problem. I would definitely stay again if in Lunenburg.
