We are a great place to experience the beauty of Northern Laos. Our guesthouse offers several different types of guest rooms to suit your needs. Zuela is constructed in the traditional Lao style from brick and teak wood, making our rooms both authentic and comfortable. We are centrally located in Luang Namtha directly across from the Luang Namtha night market, yet tucked away from the busyness of the main street. The guesthouse offers an array of services for the convenience of our guests including bicycle rental, motorbike rentals (daily or one way to several destinations), transportation arrangements, and an on-site reputable tour guide service. The on-site restaurant serves a wide selection of both traditional Lao-style cuisine, Thai food, and Western favorites.
I read about Zuela GH on a Lonely Planet guide. Once arrived in Luang Namtha I checked out this property and I really appreciated its architecture and facilities. The room I got was very big, comfortable and with ensuite bathroom. At the end of the main aisle you will find a bright, broad and comfortable porch. Seats are really nice. Next to the reception there is the restaurant of the guest house. Food is mediocre and expensive.

I was working remotely while in Luang Namtha and, after checking out a few places, found that this was the most comfortable. The room was clean and had good internet. The hotel is on the main street and right near tour agencies, the nigh market, etc.

Amandra Villa has 14 rooms in the heart of Luang Namtha. Top attractions such as the Night Market, Fresh Market, restaurant and bus station just only a few minutes walking. Being true to the Lao style of architecture, we have incorporated into our hotel wooden furnishings and lush green outdoor areas while our modern interiors are equipped with comfortable and soft touches for your ultimate relaxation.
We had a terrible stay and would not recommend staying - the room was dirty and moldy. We asked to change rooms but were given another room just as bad. The pictures are definitely not accurate, for the budget rooms at least. The staff were friendly until we told them we wanted to leave after one night and be reimbursed for the second night we had booked but would not stay for as my friend was getting sick because of the moldiness. One of the staff and the owner became aggressive, shouting at us and threatening us if we wrote about our experience online. If you are in Luang Namtha, I would recommend staying at Zuela instead - the rooms are much nicer even though cheaper.

Reading the reviews of this guesthouse, as they call it, would lead you to believe that it's the best thing going in Luang Namtha. That may have been the case a decade or more ago. But it's lost its lustre now, and needs a shot in the arm, or a kick in the ass to put it there again. The chalets (huts?) are a decent size, but lack the modern comforts you'd expect in a regular hotel. There is no Air Conditioning (except a floor fan), no flush toilets, very little hot water, and no Internet. It's located about 6km outside of the city centre, which can be a little problematic, if you need to visit an ATM, pharmacy, tour operator and the like. The seclusion is part of its charm, but wears thin pretty quickly. Food is OK, but not creative or memorable. The staff generally don't speak English, except for Liam (the owner? the manager?). Often, you'll spend time looking for front office staff, as sometimes, there is no one to be seen anywhere. I'd skip this one, and look elsewhere if you can afford it. I'd rather stay in a smaller Guesthouse in town, with hot water and Internet.

Nice room and owner but I was disappointed by the lack of view and thought it was quite expensive compared to other places and bungalows in the area. As a solo female traveler, I also disliked walking on the darkroad that leads to/from the bungalows at night (lots of drunk drivers, even in such a small town).

Haven’t be there for more than a year, so I was quite surprised when coming down to the bungalows. They added another 2. No need to ask for the newer ones, they are the same as the old ones, if you come here, it’s for the view. However you get free water, it has a hot shower, and the Wi-Fi did work as well. Either they got now new staff, or is she a family member? However, the lady in charge had very good English, that was not always so.

If you’re looking for a budget friendly guest house in Luang Namtha, look no further than Chinthima Guesthouse. Chinthima Guesthouse features baggage storage, to help make your stay more enjoyable. If you are driving to Chinthima Guesthouse, free parking is available. During your visit, be sure to check out a popular Luang Namtha burritos restaurant such as Bamboo Lounge, which is a short distance from Chinthima Guesthouse. Should time allow, Nam Dee Waterfall is a popular waterfall that is relatively easy to get to. The staff at Chinthima Guesthouse looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
Chinthima is only 10min away from the airport. It’s tucked in a quiet street a block away from the main road where all the restos and shops are located. Guesthouse staff are unable to speak English but they are very helpful and will try to understand your requests. I paid $60 for 4 nights for a double room. They have no restaurant so you have to eat at the restos or the markets nearby. There’s no elevator either so be ready to carry your luggage upstairs but the staff will help you anyway. I was in a room at the back facing the roof of a building so it was quite an uninteresting room. Try to get one of the rooms at the front which has a balcony and a view of the front yard instead which I moved into on my 2nd day. The staff cleans the room daily and provides the basic toiletries. There’s hot shower which is a requirement during the chilly winter months. Strong WiFi as well! Coffee, tea and water are free flowing 24/7 at the lobby. Overall, I recommend Chinthima Guesthouse!

Well designed and spacious individual ‘villa’ with good shower, comfortable bed and a balcony with view over the town. An easy walk to the main strip, although the hotel offered to drive us. No choice of breakfast but the omelettes were good! There was no bar or restaurant operational in the evenings but we preferred to eat in town anyway. Lovely staff, very eager to please. Would recommend.

We stumbled across this guesthouse as the one we wanted was full, but I'm very glad we ended up here! This place is very new so don't be put off by the lack of reviews. Everything is very clean and tidy, and rooms are surprisingly big! It's a two minute walk from the tour operators and restaurants. The owner is friendly and also provides a very good laundry service - very handy after trekking! If you just turn up and don't book, it's 100kip for a double room. Only one star missing as the mattress was very hard, which seemed to be a common thing in Laos. We would stay here again for sure!
