We often go food shopping in Germany, and on this occasion we went into the very large store in Nordhorn called XXXLutz. There is a restaurant on the top floor and we went there for breakfast. We ordered a large breakfast, half of which was cooked and hot bacon and eggs, and the other half is cold meat, cheese and bread rolls..The bacon is not all that great as it is streaky bacon, but it is ok. It was difficult to explain to the German waitress that we would like our fried eggs turned, but not solid. We eventually received solid fried eggs! But it was all very nice. a large mug of coffee or tea was included in the price. There was also a drink of orange juice.We went back later for our evening meal and chose a sharing plate of pork schnitzels. I could not eat this sort of food all the time as it is far too much and too fatty, but it is nice for an occasional treat.After eating our food we looked around the store. Most of the items they sell are very expensive in the store, but you can sometimes find a bargain.We will return to this restaurant for breakfast again soon.

We tried to get in here on the Saturday night and were turned back because it was booked solid.When we went in on the Monday we worked out why - the service was great and the food was good, too! I had breaded chicken with mushrooms and chips. Good choice of beers, too!On the negative side, the owner was a little rude about me being from England.

Firts time to this beautifully located restuarant. Set amongst lush green trees and just perfectly hidden, this little haven is perfect for that quiet getaway dining experience. With buffet style dining it gives you the oppurtunity to try various dishes all tasty alike. My favourite dishes were the beef carpaccio, grilled beef(cooked to perfection,as requested).The tasty "groente"(vegetable) soup and bread were also at the top of my list.One day when I return on holiday I will sure show off this place to my friends...Thank you!

Despite the large wedding party, there was still parking space left, a quiet table was found for us and the menu presented us with a wide choice of soup, salad and main courses with meat or fish for incredibly low prices, compared to restaurant prices in the Netherlands. The service of the staff was polite and faultless. And to make my day: There was draft Brinkhoff's beer to be had. The food fulfilled the promise of the atmosphere of the restaurant. The Schnitzel was delicious and the portion large. You will not leave this restautant hungry. The restaurant is situated at a main road outside the town and is easily reached by car. We will surely teturn when in the neighborhood.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. The restaurant was packed when we decided to pop in on a Saturday evening. Had main course and desserts with some wine - everything was delicious. Service was very attentive and kind! Reservation recommended since the restaurant had to turn back some clients without a reservation that evening. Seemed to be very popular in the area.

We took advantage of a "Dining with the Stars"offer at approx.50 Euros per person.The in-house restaurant De Wanne prepared a splendid 5 course dinner in no way different from the regular menu. To the contrary: if we take into account the appetizers we had a Michelin-starred 6 course dinner.The superb sommelier added a very nice wine selection and the Italian maître d'hotel added a good amount of humour.We visit this restaurant every year and always enjoy being there.
