Find out what European restaurants to try in Goettingen. Best known to most Germans as the locale of Georg-August University, Gottingen has about 130,000 residents, about a quarter of whom are students. Gänseliesel (Goose Girl) is the city's most famous resident, a 1901 fountain built in front of the 14th century Rathaus (Town Hall), which today houses the city's tourist office. But even Goose Girl can't escape the college students, who by tradition upon receiving their PhDs must climb and kiss her, making her "the most kissed girl in the world."

I recently visited Göttingen for a month and visited the local restaurants often. Restaurant Boccadoro was one of my regular stops. The owner is friendly and attentive and the food and wine are excellent. The staff is also very friendly. The location is in picturesque part of the old town, away from the over-commercialized city center. I was very happy to see that this restaurant was getting good reviews in TripAdvisor because it is a gem.

Vapiano offers salads, pastas, risottos and pizza that are prepared in front of you. You get a card that you charge when you order your food and pay at the end accordingly. The prices are very reasonable. I had a salad "Nizza" which was fresh, well prepared and tasty. My colleagues went for a pasta or a risotto, and all were quite happy with their choices. Do not expect great Italian cuisine but rather a tasty and quickly delivered dishes. You can eat your food insides or outside on long tables equipped with olive oil, vinegar and peppered oil. Basil plants are on every table if you need to add some additional flavor to your order.

Richtig gut essen. Das kannst Du im amavi PURE. Frische Zutaten. Neue Kreationen. Altbekanntes neu interpretiert. Verfeinert mit einer Prise purer Liebe. amavi ist kein klassisches italienisches Restaurant sondern ein kleines bisschen mehr. Im amavi LIFE
This newly opened restaurant is located in a converted Railway Loading and Storage depot where GüterbahnhofstraÃe and Am Güterwerkehrzcentrum meet. It is easy to miss it, as it is set back in the yard in an unlikely building. It does have a spacious car park, but the entrance is up a metal staircase to the loading dock height from the car park.Inside the restaurant is clean and modern. There is a reasonable choice of Italian style food, mostly of high quality. There are pizzas on the menu, but the other dishes are better. There is also a good choice of wines and whisky. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The menu at Mazzoni looks like many others, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality. Our dishes were cooked to order and arrived quickly. Saltimbocca (15.80 Euro) was plentiful and fresh, the meat tender and the sauce delicious. Truffle ravioli with porcini sauce (9.20) really tasted of both ingredients and the pasta seemed to be freshly made. Portions were generous. The only sub-standard item was the dressing on a salad, which tasted like bottled salad cream. The list of "vintage" wines has some interesting selections with a couple of cabernet blends for about 40 Euro.

This a favourite haunt of my family and an absolute must if you are visiting this charming university town. The game is mouthwatering and the steaks like butter! This is old fashioned Deutsche Kueche at its best. Go for Frischlingskeule. Goose and duck are also sublime! Bregenwurst mit Gruenkohl and Bratkartoffeln.......lecker!Dessert has to be Rote Gruetze.Spiffing restaurant!

Good, wholesome German food, very nice biergarten. But during lunchtime, and particularly when combined with the weekend brunch, very crowded with inadequate personnel. Takes forever to get an English-language menu, very, very long time for your food to arrive, but all this is different after, say, 2 p.m., so my impressions are mixed.

We went to Fellini with our daughter who has lived in Gottingen for the last 3 months. She chose it based on recommendations from colleagues and TripAdvisor .We were not disappointed . As vegetarians we had plenty of options and although our choices were fairly straightforward, they were delicious, and savoured to the hilt. The place was packed at 7.30 pm on a weekday evening so obviously it's enjoyed by locals.Service was rather perfunctory, perhaps because there were large groups, but polite and prompt.

This restaurant is sure to please kids and adults alike. There are a variety of unusual noodle dishes from around the world...though Iâm a little skeptical of some that seem to be using European-style noodles for Asian and other international dishes. (I didnât actually try them, but that was my impression from the menu.) atmosphere is fun, but the tables are very cramped and crowded together.

Interesting and curious place where eating. I have been here for a solo dinner and travelling for business. I come from the Kingdom of Pizzaland and was very surprised to find a very good (but completely different) Pizza food in Germany. You can select a tons of variaties from salty to sweety pizza's. I tried the delicious Champignons-Speck and then the wonderul Supreme with banana and sweet cream and chocolate. Warmly recommended.Hello Alberto, thank you for your top review, you are always welcome.Your Team Le Feu

This restaurant is located in the total city center, easily accessible on foot from anywhere. Although inside there is a cosy atmesphere, we prefered to sit outside and enjoy nice weather. The service was really express (3 different waiting, although the main one was not so driendly-looking). Prices are affordable, you can choose from main menu or seasonal offer. A draught dark beer was a surprise for me, cause it's almost always offered only in a bottle. The best of all - the meals!!! OMG, that was probably the biggest and tastiest schnitzel I've ever seen in my life! And fresh salad aside is a standard, which is nice. Apart from that, you don't need to worry to use the toilet - small but straight. All in all, no 1 in GÃ for me!!!
