Nice local heuriger with good wines and a selection of hot and cold meals to accompany. Soups were tasty, mains also and the puddings were delicious. Wines were served at the table and we went to buffet to choose our food. Main courses were weighed so you could have as much or little as you wanted. Nice atmosphere except that you had to go through the smoking area to the buffet...interesting sparkling red wine..

We are Viennese but live in Germany. Whenever we come to Vienna for family and friends, we have to have traditional food, vine and beer. This time we went to „Heurigen“ at Perchtoldsdorf. The service is young and very friendly and gives good advice for food and vine. Top possibilities also for kids to play and eat as well. Dishes are very very traditional. I love it. You get also many specials from the menu or you simply choose from the various dishes, salads or also sweets from the bar/Buffet as usual st Heurigen...We come again!

We really enjoyed this place, staff spoke well English, everyone was smiling and very nice. Kids enjoyed gorgeous playground where they spent hours playing while we had tapped beer and homemade dessert with vanilla sauce, yummy. Kids ordered grilled cheese sandwich or hot dog so they were also content. There is a changing table at the restroom for women, which was handy. Overall total satisfaction. :)

Panorama Restaurant

Madame and I were casting about for a nice lunch on a recent foggy, drizzly Saturday. We had heard about Panorama, and even drove past it on our way up to Modling in search of a restaurant that turned out to have no parking. So we headed back and did what we should have done in the first place, which was to give Panorama a try.So glad we did -- the place was busy, in a somewhat relaxed fashion, even a little after 2PM on this particular day. Still, service was friendly and well-organized. Madame opted for the smaller portion of Kalbsschnitzel -- having gone Schnitzel-free all week, why not? -- and pronounced it excellent. And, as advertised, the smaller portion was just right for a senior appetite. My choice was fried Zander (lake pike-perch) fillets, and they were superb too. Tomato soup as a starter on her side of the table, and a rucola salad on mine, were equally good; dessert (a small souffle for her, and tiramisu for me) was downright decadent. A few glasses of Gruner Veltliner, and then large coffees to finish, left us with a sense of complete well-being. Same for the bill, which was surprisingly easy on the wallet. The atmosphere is that of a gracious, welcoming country establishment of some years' vintage, one with a large local clientele. Some good-sized parties were accommodated at one end of the dining room, but noise levels were still quite acceptable. The "panorama" part was not quite in evidence: we could tell from the location that the dining room's big windows would look out on something, but it was so foggy that day that all we could see was the back garden. Later, though, we learned that in clear weather a view of all Vienna, or most of it, is spread out below, and that at the right time of evening we might sit outdoors and watch the city light up. That would definitely be a fine added attraction -- just one more reason why we'll definitely try to return. There is ample parking in front of the restaurant, or just off to the side through an archway. American Express is not accepted but Visa cards are welcome. Judging by our visit, children are welcome as well --

There are many Heuriger to choose from in Perchtoldsdorf but this one has one of the nicest gardens. The food is typical heuriger food and the wines are also the nice local wines. I would always choose a Perchtoldsdorf heuriger over the touristy places in Grinzing. You will see mostly locals here. For those uninitiated, you order drinks at the table and your food from the buffet counter inside. You can either order cold items from the counter (just point if you don't speak German!) or hot dinners that will take a few minutes to prepare. I am an American who lived in Perchtoldsdorf for 5 years so I am a bit biased!
