This is New Orleans, a tourist city full of tourist traps. On the edge of Lafayette Square in the CBD is Herbsaint, an unassuming restaurant serving outrageously good locally inspired dishes with top quality seasonal ingredients and a deft touch that ensures great flavor and texture combinations. A good wine list and well informed and passionate service. Our dog was more than welcome on the patio and enjoyed it too.

Boucherie was recommended by several musicians we know. The location is uptown just off of Carrollton St. The restaurant is in a small house. You feel like you are dining in a friendâs home. Very cozy and casual. The food is off the charts good. Very creative Southern food with an Asian twist. We started with the mussels with collard greens. Simply outstanding! Our entrees and cocktails were excellent as well. We love the bartender- very friendly and engaging. Prices were reasonable. Both my husband and I walked out of Boucherie with big smiles.

Our son who lives in New Orleans recommended Bistro Daisy. The building is a beautiful little shotgun house uptown. The interior is pleasant and cozy with nice lighting. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Our salads, oysters, and entrees were very tasty and nicely presented. The chicken in particular is worth mentioning. Our server, Jacob was knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The pace of our dinner was relaxed but not slow. This was one of our best meals on vacation!

Everything is outstanding. Donât miss the Crab Special- a large crab cake topped with a fried jumbo soft shell crab and covered with a nice quantity of crab meat. We started with grilled oysters. Service was very good and drinks were well made. Nice casual attire. GO. Make a rez on Open Table.

We went on a Friday for their brunch menu. The restaurant wasn't too busy as we arrived right when they opened at 11, but it was crowded when we finished around 1215.I had a violet colored cocktail, that I sadly can't remember the name of. It was light, sweet, and a little tart at the same time. It was very good. My husband had the bottomless bloody mary's, which you really can't go wrong with.I had the smoked pork enchiladas, which were awesome as pork is not always my first choice. My husband had the shrimp and grits which were also very good. This is a very cozy renovated shotgun home, which gives it a great overall feel. They also had a small private room which looked very nice. The service was timely and friendly. If we didn't want to try 20 new places every time we visit Nola we would come back to this restaurant.

We arrived to day and wanted a casual local dining experience. This restaurant was recommended by the inn keeper. It was perfect. Food was home made with the right amount of Cajun. Only thing we regret was that the dinner was so good and filling it didnât leave room for desert.

The former 1910 pharmacy in the neighborhood has amazing history turning our excellent chefs in the last 30 years and it can be experienced. It is so Nola that it does not even need a sign out front. The quality and service was impeccable and would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a NOLA dinner experience that is not touristy!

We decided to stay near our Air BNB, so we walked to Atchafalaya for dinner. The restaurant was busy and very well appointed. We were seated right away, on the second floor, nice but tight room. The tables were very clean with superb preparation. The server was prompt and knowledgeable. We had a punch dujour and a sazerac. Both were well made and delicious. We ordered shrimp and grits and chicken vol -a-vent. The presentation was excellent, the shrimp and grits very tasty but did not care for the whole shrimp. I dont want to work that hard for my food at that cost. The chicken was surprisingly good. We finished with the dark chocolate peanut crepe cake, which was tremendous. All in all a very good meal albeit expensive.
