Stopped in for lunch on a rainy South Louisiana afternoon. Interior is simple but comfortable enough. Service staff were pleasant, but not rushed - so if you're in a hurry you may want to try a different type of establishment. Gumbo was pretty close to what I remember my grandmother would make (that's a good thing). Shrimp po-boy was typical of the region, medium shrimp, dressed, and on a better than average bun. Prices are fair.I could be convinced to return on my next trip to the area.

Roses Cafe provides Pancakes (2) large $4.75, S.O.S (pork sausage in white gravy on a biscuit) $5.50 for the Galliano, LA area.
We stopped for dinner while passing though town and returned for breakfast. Dinner was pork chops and was two large pork chops, wow a great dish. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. Going back for breakfast was also a good idea, it was also very good. The wait staff were very nice as well.
We go out for breakfast every once in a while. I find the service lacks a bit. I had to ask for coffee refills, twice. And it took them a while to wait on us. The table was not very clean. The scrambles eggs were so overcooked they were extremely dry and tasteless. I ordered 3 strips of bacon, they brought 1. But, the coffee was good. :)
This place is a small hometown restaurant. The menu is not big, but the food is very good. Nothing fancy. 50s decor. They do have some of the best fried chicken on the bayou! Always have. But, compared to other places on the bayou, way overpriced. Like I said, food is good, but so overpriced.
What's Brewing is a specialty coffee shop and cafe. We serve sandwiches, salads, & wraps for lunch (as well as soup in the winter). For breakfast we have breakfast sandwiches. Enjoy your meal with one of our specialty coffees or flavored teas.

She COMPLAINES about ALL her men customers that just stop in for a cup of joe in the morning to get their week started!Hi Andrea, Thank you for taking the time to stop in. I'm sorry you had a bad experience here. We appreciate all of our customers especially our morning men customers. We don't mean to give off the impression otherwise. My family and I have been dining here for years, and have never been disappointed. I like to start with dessert. Mommie Jo's freshly baked red velvet cake is wonderful; displayed in am old-fashioned cake stand on the front counter. After that, I like their onion mum as an entree or the seafood gumbo. It's the next best thing to homecooking.
