Spent a day at Grand Isle, LA and stopped to eat some lunch at The Starfish restaurant. This is basically a Gulf Coast fishing town, which is actually a barrier island. Well the food was wonderful and the waitress, a local, was so very helpful and friendly. I am an oyster lover and so ordered the oyster po-boy. Those oysters were so fresh and cooked perfectly... Crisp on outside and still juicy inside. Our waitress also pointed us to the Conoco station to buy some beer. They had no problem letting us leave our car in their parking lot to cross the road and head through the dunes. Take a day trip and please stop at the Starfish. Their seafood slept in the Gulf last night. Ten stars.... I will be back.

We came in to eat their breakfast as our hosts at Island House recommended them, but we missed it. We had burgers instead and they were pretty good. We may have time to try their breakfast and if we do, Iâll let you know!

Hard to know how to rate our meal. The Crawfish egg roll appetizer was delicious as was the hamburger steak with mushrooms and onions. But the blackened seafood platter was entirely overlooked to the point of dried out shrimp, oysters and frog legs.

We ate here on a Thursday evening at 6pm. We were served immediately with drinks and breads. The meal was excellent. The best we have had in the states so far during our two weeks vacation. We had two fish specials, good selection of vegetables and delicious sauces. Every other meal we have found so far has been unhealthily cooked and all fish fried! We had ample fresh salad too. We have read previous reviews about wait times and impolite staff. The staff we had were very friendly, we had excellent service and the food arrived hot and beautifully served. The key lime pie was gorgeous and the plate decorated. Even the bill had a lovely comment on it by the waiting staff. We would definitely go again if we return to Grand Isle. Great view also of the Marina and the sun set.
Consistent with other Subways in that you can have a sandwich created as you wish. My wife had a chopped salad which she liked very much. Restrooms are clean and modern, the only ones on Grand Isle in that condition. (There are no public restrooms anywhere on the island that I know of.)
