Our group ordered appetizers. We had some kind of sliced chicken that was good. The spring rolls were mostly 'roll' with not enough stuffing, and they tasted more like cooking oil than spring roll. The summer rolls were bland with inadequate sauce to add flavor.I ordered Seafood scallops, hot and sour soup and Yum salad. The salad was bland and only had a few chunks of Brussels sprouts. The soup was delicious. The scallops dish was supposed to come with asparagus. The portion size disappointed me. The 4 scallops were large but they were undercooked and very chewy. The 3 shrimp were small but cooked perfectly. The sauce they were prepared in was very good. I don't care for bell peppers so I always order any dish without them. The dish came with bell peppers, and they were not on the menu. The chewy scallops and bell peppers with no asparagus ruined the dish for me. It took quite some time for a server to return to our table of 7. Not really attentive enough in my opinion. When she did finally return, I mentioned the bad food. She did offer to replace it, but it was too late.I sure expected a lot more.

Friendly and attentive staff boost the rating for this informal eatery on Maple Street. Try the mini-tacos ("Bacos")- we liked spicy shrimp and wrapped our meal with delicious (and filling) pho. Can't wait to return to this indoor/outdoor eating option.

So, this was a part of a birthday celebration dinner in NOLA, I did want a different restaurant vibe than the traditional NOLA and I got it. Ok, I do not understand at all the bread service. TA peeps, what bread did you have? The bread for our entire table was not a big deal at all. Even if it was free we would not have enjoyed it, so paying for it hurt. Two of us had the Coolinary special which had the slow roasted pork.; it was good but nothing that made my eyes roll as I chewed. It started with the smoke fish dip which was ok. What was great was the Sweet corn tom yum. My daughter ordered and it was amazing. It appears that pasta dishes are they way to go for something different yet similar to the type of cuisine. The desserts came with the Coolinary menu, the Maypop tarte was good, skip the dark chocolate cremeux. The service was excellent . The vibe is what I needed for something different in NOLA.

I'm just realizing that I visited this restaurant for takeout when it was on the Westbank. Fortunately, it has improved since its move Uptown. I've been here twice now and really have enjoyed most of my meals. The standout is the Pakoda (cauliflower fritters). During my first uptown visit, we ordered a second serving of the fritters as they are so good. The bombay shrimp are tasty as well. During my last visit, in addition to the Pakoda again, I opted for that night's special, Squash Blossoms. This entree reminded me of stuffed shrimp and what a great way to incorporate creole cooking into Indian food. My least favorite dish is the Crabmeat Pudha because it lacks flavor. In regards to portion size, these are small plates but 2 or 3 should feel you up. If heading here w/o reservations, prepare to wait or grab your meal at the bar. This place is usually very busy.
