Oysters are fresh, salty, not full of sand, big and damn tasty. Regular stop, when in town. Like to get containers (half gallon) to go for freezing for on-the-spot gumbos and seafood dishes.

I had the fried fish platter with fries and a salad. The fish was terrible, kind of soft with no taste. The fries was your usual commercial fries. The best part of the meal was the salad. Really disappointed in the new location.
These juicy mud bugs will delight the most particular crawfish connoisseur. They are the best I've ever had anywhere. They are boiled in a secret blend of seasoning, then seasoned a second time after they come out of the water. Eaten with the boiled potatoes, corn, sausage and their sauce will be a delight you can't get enough of. I make a special trip to Houma just for these delectable little creatures. This is a take-out only restaurant. Crawfish may be better in your own home, where you can slurp the juice and not annoy the people at the next table.

I try to go about two Times a month, & the food is always great & the service is good. I like what they did to the outside to make it inviting. Very nice that you can sit outside to eat.

First time to 1921 Seafood in Houma. Have passed by there several times & saw that the place was packed. Now, I know why. It was Excellent! From the service to the delicious food I can't say enough about how great it was. Seafood is not "cheap" so you can't expect the price to be cheap. Prices were comparable to other seafood restaurants in the area. We sat at the oyster bar, received excellent service from Nicole & the other servers there (it didn't matter who you asked for something, they did it without hesitation). The beer was cold, the ray oysters were salty & shucked right in front of you. Saw some of the biggest oysters I have seen in my life being shucked. Thankfully, the ones we were served were a size that could actually fit in your mouth, lol.The boiled crawfish was some of the Best seasoned Crawfish I have had at a restaurant in Houma. The seasoning was spot on, enough spice to get your lips burning just a bit and nose starting to run (that was with sucking each crawfish head). If you didn't want as much spice, then simply don't suck all of the heads. There were some very large crawfish on the mix, but overall they were large sized Unfortunately, they had just ran out of the crabmeat stuffed jalapenos so we opted for a dozen of charbroiled oysters instead. They were delicious too! There was a band playing so that the environment lively and enjoyable. The servers were hustling & very attentive to asking @ needing another beer or if we wanted to order anything else.Left stuffed & extremely satisfied. Will certainly be a place to return to, especially to try the crabmeat stuffed jalepenos.Would highly recommend as a place to refer to locals & out of town visitors for some good food and a good time.

Our lodging is in a very rural area. To the point, I wondered where we would be able to eat. Fortunately on the back of the yellow check-in card, they had directions to a restaurant not too awfully far (about seven miles) away, the Bayou Delight Restaurant. The Bayou Delight is a small café just off the side of the road by the bayou. Inside it is rather plain and a bit decrepit (ceiling tiles a bit falling down; stuff stored here and there), but looked clean. There were pressed wood tables and booths scattered around a fairly large dining area. The menu was interesting. On the front it touted Cajun and Creole fare. But inside had American and Cajun. We began with Boudin Bites. These are little rice and sausage balls with spices, breaded and deep fried. Quite good. Then we got their Crab Cake Acadiana. These were crab cakes with a spicy crawfish gravy. The dish came with salad, bread and a hushpuppy. The crab cake was a bit bland. Felt like it was a bit bready (though Iâve had âgenuineâ crab cakes before and they seemed a bit bready). Though the gravy was good. Just not enough of it. The bread, though small was tasty. The salad was just shredded lettuce and diced tomato. Unimpressive. The hush puppy was good. The dish felt a bit expensive for what we got. It was the most expensive meal of the trip so far. Still on the lookout for a good down-home Cajun meal.

Stopped in early Friday (5 pm). No problem parking tho place fills up fast. When we left, standing room waiting to be seated. Had a soft shell crab poboy ($17.00)Iâd been wanting and husband had a fried shrimp poboy ($10.00)We split fries($2.00) which worked out great. The Abita Purple Haze beer ($3.50)was good and cold. Both poboys were good but we agreed the bread was not as desirable as a crunchy Leidenheimerâs would have been. Other folks said boiled crawfish were good, running at $7.50 a pound and regular boiled shrimp were $15.00 a pound. The fries we were very thin and had an almost sweet potato fry taste that I wasnât crazy about. Service was good. Iâd go back and try something boiled, but really wanted that soft shell crab poboy!

as we were doing many earns and ended up near boudreau & thibodeau's we stopped for our evening meal for the day of running around the area ... the parking was easy before the evening rush being it was right before 4pm ... entering we were seated and we chose a booth ... our server Kami M took our drink orders and we asked for a hush puppies appetizer but she told us that they were out of them ... wow how can a kitchen that has one of the best hush puppies so early in the day and when the afternoon rush starts ... we have friends that drive from metairie just for the for the hush puppies with butter ... i had the Etouffee and each spoonful had at least 2 or more crawfish in every spoonful till the last spoon had only 2 ... and that is just why we come here often because the food is good and plentiful and taste like from home
