I decided to try Chubby's after reading the reviews about the fried chicken. The reviews were spot on, as the chicken was crispy, not greasy and very juicy inside. The biscuit was perfect and the rice was absolutely delicious. This will definitely be a regular stop when in the New Orleans area.P.S. in the excitement to fill my belly, I left my hotel room without my wallet. I didn't realize this until I was placing my order. Rather than turn me away, the manager just told me it was okay and then I could bring the money to her tomorrow. I find it refreshing that a small business owner would still place trust in clientele like that. Thank you Julie!

somewhat hesitant to call any New Orleans eatery my favorite, but this small establishment is that place...great service, delicious food, solid wine list...i've been here three times and have never been disappointed...this time around i had the blackened scallops and they were prepared to perfection! The flash-cooked caesar salad was uniquely outstanding.Thank you very much for this review, Steve. It means so much to us to be considered your favorite! We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to let us know how much you've enjoyed dining with us, and hope to have the pleasure of serving you again many more times!

We were in NOLA for a week and frankly, coming from Montreal which has excellent restaurants, we did not have high expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. This is a very very good restaurant in NOLA among other good restaurants : delicious food, efficient and kind service and fair pricing. We recommend the ceviche, the fish and scallop signature dish and the coconut sorbet. We saved the best for last and left NOLA with some wonderful souvenirs of its culinary scene.

My wife and I visited this restaurant today. We were in the mood for po-boys and stopped by to check them out. I had a shrimp po-boy and my wife had a catfish. They were big and generously stuffed. We were very happy with the food and the service.

Well, all i can say is gooood. I had the fried catfish with garlic potatoes red beans and rice, the others had salad with grilled shrimp, stuffed fried bell pepper, grill chicken pasta, creole pepper shrimp, fried shrimp with veggie. To start we all shared hot wings.Needless to say. The portions were not disappointing. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING.BELIEVE IT, WE ORDERED BREAD PUDDING AND A CHOCOLATE EXPLOSION CAKE....to go....Do not be put off by the surroundings, in a neighborhood and everone was extremely nice.Go early, we went at 5pm and within an hour it was packed. I noticed a lot of take out orders being done.Heads up..the place is small, seating limited, prices are more reasonable than a fancy french quarter eatery. If you choose not to eat in, please do take out.A HIDDEN GEM.

Best Seafood platter within miles of the French QuarterExcellent Staff, Family run Classic Old School New Orleans Seafood dining. Family atmosphere. You will not be disappointed!2 adults and 2 kids can share the Seafood Platter...Like fish? This place is one of the last restaurants that still offers a seafood stuffed Flounder...once a staple in New Orleans restaurants...but now almost extinct YET Dempseyâs (tucked away in the Bywater) still provides. Super friendly, down home staff. No egos and itâs NEVER going to be a hipster joint...Just good folks doing A+++ fresh Louisiana Seafood...your choice fried or boiled Seafood. Itâs 30 blocks downriver from the French Market/U.S Mint on Esplanade Ave...so not walkable for most tourists...BUT DEFINITELY worth an Uber or better yet rent a bicycle!!!Try it once and I guarantee youâll be back!!!

Customer had a shrimp poboy with fries and said it was very good. I had a oyster poboy with fries and both was way too salty. The oyster was very heavy battered. The batter was too salty and not the oysters. The fries could have used 1/3 of the salt they put. Service was fast. The place is very clean and inviting. I will try them again.
