We gave this place 3 tries and the food was terrible all 3 times. Cold tacos, slow service and the Margaritas were horrible also. Don't waste your money!Hi Christine, we appreciate your feedback and will absolutely make sure we can fix this for you. Our Momâs Restaurant and Bar in Baton Rouge offers its customers the perfect place to grab a bite to eat with the family, or unwind after a long day at work. We provide our patronâs with the taste of a fresh home cooked meal just like our mom used to make
We visited for lunch on a Monday. Fortunately, the lunch special was the original burger...8 ounces with lettuce, mayo, tomato for $5. And it was delicious. It is normally priced at $9.95 with fries. This is one of the best places, not fancy, to eat near the LSU campus. You certainly can't go wrong with the Monday lunch special. For $2 more, it includes the fries and a drink.

We got a late start for dinner and were having trouble finding an open full-service restaurant. Was happy to find that Walk Ons open late. They have a comprehensive menu of local-type foods. Everything was tasty. And, the servings were huge--two of us could have split an entrée after having shared an appetizer.

I stopped in here for a quick lunch. The friendly, knowledgeable woman behind the bar said that their burgers and po'boys are their most popular menu items, so I ordered the shrimp po'boy. It was simple and delicious. Freshly breaded, perfectly fried shrimp atop a freshly baked, thick (but not heavy) sub roll, with just the right amount of mayo, lettuce, and thinly sliced tomatoes. It was easily the best po'boy I've had in a very long time, including one I had while in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. The fries appear to be fresh cut, and they give you an ample serving of them. Yum.The interior is typical of a bar or pub. There is a second, brighter room to the right. When I arrived, only men were sitting at the bar or in the main dining room. All women save one man were seated in the second room. It seemed strange at first, but several of the women had young children with them so perhaps they sat out there so as not to disturb others. They have large menus of both food and beer. I wish I were in town longer to check out some of the other offerings. If you're in need of a quick, delicious po'boy, check this place out.

Stopped in here killing time before an appointment one afternoon. Bar tender Kramer was well informed on all the selections that were available for sale. He definitely knew his way around the bar and gave good conversation while I waited. This place was very clean and well designed. A definate place to go back too.

Tried Tio Javiâs for a late lunch. It was surprisingly busy on Saturday afternoon. The chips and salsa starters are very good. Great number of menu choices. The margaritas are a tad pricey but good. Service was friendly and generally very good. Would try again!

This restaurant has built a great reputation for making great hamburgers and po-boys. We visited twice last month, enjoying the sweet potato fries with burgers, and on our second visit, enjoying shrimp and oyster po-boys. Hard to beat great food from this place!

What a fun place! Great service and food. Lots of options on the menu. I would have liked more gluten free options, but it was still very good.

Great place to grab a quality meal and a beer (or two) close to campus. Wide menu options and great service hit you right away. The beer menu is VAST (with an Around the World experience available). The grilled pork chops and buffalo chicken were excellent. Prices were very good and service was on point. Plenty of seating options. There is very limited parking on the street, but there is a lot in the rear of the building (on Chimes St). Lemon Ice Box pie was also a hit! Great student hangout, but also great for families.
