When we visited Avery Island the restaurant was being remodeled- hubby went later after our 1st visit and ate at the restaurant- He loves Tabasco on almost everything- - he said his food was delicious- service was great!-- He wants to go back and eat there again ( We live in Florida and he was traveling to Texas- was out of his way to go there but was worth it. He said prices were reasonable. Thanks for stopping by! We're so glad you guys enjoyed yourselves while visiting. We hope to see you again in the future!
This is a hidden gem I believe. They are actually on the outskirts of New Iberia and serve a lunch buffet and have a full menu. Their burgers are great and they have some panini wraps too. If Dwayne is there you'll have to do a shot of tequila too !!!!
husband and i out for a good meal. since i don't like seafood, he doesn't get it often. i do like fried catfish and we decided to give it a try. not a real fancy place probably does more take out than in house. all the sea food you could want, either fried or grilled except for the oysters, fried only. he got the large fried catfish, 6 huge pieces, and for a change i got chicken lo mien. figured i eat some of his fish anyway. it is something you will want to have again and again. lots of sides and for the hard to please, even hamburgers. a really great price.. this place will be around a while.

Theriot's is Cajun Restaurant/Deli that was originally open as a corner grocery store in 1941. We started serving lunch in the early 1980's along side the groceries then slowly evolved in to a Restaurant/Deli.
I have lived in New Iberia for 5 years and have probably eaten here 100 times. My husband LOVES the lunch here. The food is good home cooking, reasonably priced, cafeteria style, served on Styrofoam containers that you can use for eating in or taking out. Nothing fancy here, but good food at a good price from the Theriot family. The Monday red beans & rice with sausage are perfect. Just like my grandmother & Mother cooked. The daily fried chicken is fresh, crispy, and a great value. The fried fish is delicious and never greasy. Other entrees include country fried steak, grilled chicken or fish, & shrimp stew. They have meatballs & spaghetti on Thursday which is nice as we have no Italian restaurants in New Iberia. The side dishes change daily as do the deserts. During Lent, they are open on Friday nights and their fried seafood is delicious and a great value. You will see the locals here-the police officers, the lawyers from the nearby Court House, the working people of New Iberia. Enjoy your visit.

Starting with a snowball stand in 1932 until today, Richard & Lori Hurst are carrying on the family tradition. From St. John Street to on the River, to nestled in the woods, now with two full service restaurants, Poor Boy's Riverside Inn's and Little Rive
Four of us arrived ~ 6:45 on a MON evening. Had the "large" alligator bites - half grilled, half fired. Like they say: tasted like chicken (for $10.95). Had drinks. Two of us had the seafood gumbo with rice - excellent. One had the broiled seafood platter, remaining person had the crab dinner, Food quality/taste was excellent. We waited a long time for the food - restaurant not even half full. Server apologized to us a few times for the delay. She comped us some sweet potato beignets (French) - outstanding.

Driving to New Orleans, we stopped at Brenda's for lunch. Every day of the week has a different menu. There were four people in our group. Every dish and side I tasted was outstanding. But the rolls that came with each meal stood out. As the name states, you can dine in or take out. We dined in. The service was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Home of Fresh & Wild!!!! Join Chef Alex Patout for home style Cajun Food in cajun country!!!! After all, he wrote the Book on it, published by Ramdon House!!!!
We arrived late after a solid drive from New Orleans. Tired and hungry we walked into a family restaurant full of live music and friendly staff. It was crawfish season so we each had the boil with potatoes and sausage. Yum! We did not have the buffet but it looked like a local favorite. Highly recommend.

With the noonday temperature reaching the mid 90's I chose the beautiful oak shaded shore of Jefferson Island to enjoy my Sunday lunch.I started to cool down with a mimosa followed with a cup of seafood bisque for an appetizer. The bisque was thick and creamy and chuck full of lump crabmeat and shrimp. A bowl of this stuff could prove to be rich and deadly! My main course consisted of a 1/2 chef salad (their salads are huge!). Loaded with pieces of ham, swiss and American cheese, black olives, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, sliced boiled egg, and a huge salad pepper this proved to be a great summer lunch! I chose a light raspberry vinegarett dressing which really complimented all the flavors of the salad.Surrounded on all sides by the beauty of Rip Van Rinckle Gardens while I ate made for a great experience!
