As I was staying at the Blake Hotel I used he restaurant a couple of times, unfortunately I got the same waitress who just had a sad attitude. Didn't matter what you did she would find some way to belittle or chastise you. It's disappointing to see this review, and I'm sorry to hear your experience with us wasn't what you expected. This doesn't sound like my staff at all -- everyone loves what they do and genuinely enjoys serving the locals and tourists alike. Not that this is any consolation for the poor service but we did let that server go Monday and she is not longer with us. I hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future when you're back in town.Sincerely,David S. Owner

Went with hubby and a friend. Two of us had fried catfish, collard greens, mac and cheese and friend had smothered pork chops. All good sized portions and very well seasoned. Love that they are training at-risk kids to become great additions to the local restaurant industry. Kudos to all!!

At Jimmy J's Café, we make everything from scratch using the freshest ingredients. It takes a while longer, but we know it makes all the difference. We are one of the French Quarter's best kept secrets. Ask anyone from the Big Easy and they will tell you
Loved this place. Went twice in the short time we were visiting. Great service and exceptional food. Awesome Bloody Mary's as well. A little pricey but way better than other more popular places. Banana Bread French toast was to die for!Wonderful waitress - Deserie!

Excellent breakfast, reasonably priced and the service was super! We had a selection, omelette, eggs with salmon, and the fried pancake balls. The grits were as good as we have ever had, even in Texas. Small place but worth a short wait.

This lovely little cafe is just off the lobby of the Pontchartrain Hotel on St Charles Ave. We ate there a couple of times while staying at the hotel. It is lovely with a pleasant staff and delightful but limited menu. The coffee is delicious and we had that offering every morning we were there. They also have wonderful muffins. Not sure if they are made on site but they were outstanding (especially the blueberry and carrot muffins). One day we ate a full breakfast and I had the omelette with pimiento cheese, bacon and hollandaise sauce. It was served with a small side salad and wonderful garlic hash brown potatoes. The street side seating allows you to watch the interesting people walking by even early in the morning. Delightful neighborhood cafe with interesting art work on the walls. Seems no one could identify the artist but as a patron of the cafe, the art work adds a lovely touch to the ambiance.Thank you for the kind words, John! We are thrilled you enjoyed your experiences at the Silver Whistle Cafe! We hope to see you again next time you visit New Orleans!

The Two Chicks Cafe is somewhat difficult to find as it is located inside the building at 901 Convention Center Blvd, but we were glad we eventually found it. The "Under the Sea Omelet" was fantastic! It contained crab meat, shrimp, brie, bell pepper and green onion. The "Crab Cake Benedict "was also very tasty. Our server was friendly and efficient, and she took good care of us. The cafe is a great place to have breakfast!

This cafe has the best breakfast in New Orleans and is worth the wait. I had the banana French toast and it was awesome...no syrup needed. Every one in my family had something different and said their food was great.
