Used to visit the Baton Rouge location years ago and was expecting the same here. No chance. Ridiculous prices ($9.00 non-craft beer) and very average service. If youâre going to rip people off for a beer, at least put the price on the menu so I can decide. I feel robbed, and Iâm not joking. The one plus is that the cheese sticks were amazing. Not heading back anytime soon.
When you first drive into the parking lot, Sports City Grill does not look like much. However, when you get inside and are seated and view the menu, you virtually want to order everything. The menu is wide ranging for this not so large eatery and what my wife and I had was extremely good. I tried the red beans and rice with sausage and the Pasta Primavera. It was a good bit of food, and I had planned on taking some home, but everything was so good I ate it all.My wife had the Italian salad and spaghetti and meat balls which she also loved. In my wildest dreams I never expected the food to be that good. There is also a bar inside the building, and many may enjoy that aspect of the grill, but, for me, the food is king. I will definitely be back.J. Randolph SmithMonroe, LA

My wife and I were in town for business and were looking for a great dinner. We found Fat Pelican on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try based on mostly great reviews. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The owner took our drink orders and our waiter Zack came up immediately. Our drinks came out in minutes. Once we ordered our food came out promptly. During our meal at least three other servers checked on us. I ordered barbecue shrimp and my wife had the catfish poboy. These were over the top great. The shrimp did not come with bread but Zack brought us toasted bread quickly when we asked for it. There was a live singer who was very good but not too loud. The restaurant was organized to not be crowded or noisy. This will certainly be a place we will come back to. Itâs hard to decide if the food was the best or was it the service. Try it, you wonât be disappointed.

We eat here a couple times a month and never have had a bad meal, and the rolls are delicious. We always asked for our favorite server and she treated us like family. She is no longer there but all their servers are great.Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We're happy you were pleased and we look forward to serving you again!

Great local restaurant that serves a variety of burgers, tacos, and salads. We also have a large variety of beer on tap! Come on down and check us out!
Here are the problems:No menu on website or anywhere elseWithout a menu, it is difficult to ask all the right questions on phoneBurger was better than average but had items on it I did not want.Over $26 is a little expensive for 2 burgers with simple friesI was shorted on the change by nearly a half dollar by them rounding in their favor-by the way this is theft or theft by employee.Other than this, everything was fine. I give it a 2.

Lunched there today with a friend & enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich. Did not notice until eating it that it was enhanced with bacon, which added to the floor. They were out of skinny fries, so I subsituted to regular fries and they were very goo. Service good, seed promptly. Overall a good meal.

I had dinner recently at the Waterfront Grill. The setting along the river is about as good as you can ask for in Monroe, Louisiana. They have a nice menu with both surf and turf options. None of the fish is fried, and I absolutely love that commitment in a region that is known for fried fish. The Catfish Desiard, which is made up of two fillets topped with bread crumbs, mushrooms, parmesan cheese, and shrimp, was a terrific entree. The stuffed potato side dish would go well with any entree on any day of the year; it was terrific! The prices are a little high (mine was $23) for the area, but I believe the quality is there. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

BBQ is MY thing and 2DB&Q was as delicious as has ever passed my lips! The meat was well-flavored whether topless or slathered. The sauce choices were perfect. And the sides...abundant and delectable! We had the twice baked potato casserole, beefy baked beans, and 4 cheese Mac & cheese. Not your average carry out BBQ line, but a dining experience fit for a date!

We stopped here on a long road trip for dinner based on reviews and we were not disappointed. Burger was very good and the cheese fries were very good just a tad hard. Everyone was super friendly. This is a small, local pub and you seat yourself but everyone was very nice to us. Would define stop again.

Traveling from Alabama to Dallas we stopped in Monroe for some Cajun food. This certainly satisfied our desires and our stomachs! We sat outside overlooking the river. This is no fancy place, just good food, and obviously filled with locals. Go there for the real thing! Donât forget the fried crawfish tails appetizer.....
