If you've ever been to MC, you know good restaurants are hard to find. We went to this restaurant after seeing reviews that it was pretty decent. Now, I must question who's writing reviews!I'll make this as short and sweet as possible!#1: We were served in reusable plastic mugs and bowls!! Big NO NO! Plastic holds more germs that glass. DO NOT serve people in reusable plastic ware.#2: My sons boudin burger was more rice than boudin. My husbands burger was reheated, dry, and not cooked all the way. Thank God I added $3 tiny shrimp to my steak potatoes bc the steak had no flavor.#3: The environment is not a friendly one! That being said, visit at your own risk. Maybe things will have improved when you do.

What the best kept secret in Morgan City? It's the Dixie Grill at Days Inn. We offer a family friendly dining atmosphere. We serve lunch buffet Sunday through Saturday and nightly dinner specials Monday through Friday. We are open daily for breakfast, lun
Also called Dixie Grill. My wife and I stopped here for lunch. We were a bit surprised when we walked in and there only a couple of customers. We noticed they had a buffet so we checked it out and it looked pretty dismal. There was mostly some old looking chicken fried pork for entrees with about 3 or 4 side dishes that also seemed to have been âaround a whileâ. Nonetheless we decided to try it. The vegetable soup was quite good. Both the salad and the salad dressing were very boring. The cornbread was good. The white beans with sausage were good. The loaded mashed potatoes were good. The chicken fried pork was dried out. They also had smothered turkey necks. That was the first time we ever ate turkey necks and they were actually quite good. The upside down pineapple upside cake was very good and was the best part of the meal.Thank You for your review we would like to invite you back whenever you are in town. The restaurant is currently under new management, had some improvements, and would like for you to review us again one day with the current changes.

They had a buffet that evening. I went and looked at it and it was a mess. There was food everywhere. It was obvious that no one was tending the buffet. The restaurant was nasty looking too. We decided it would be safer to order from the menu. My husband and I both ordered the chicken pot pie. It looked and tasted disgusting to me. There was a mish-mash of carrots, potatoes, celery and peas all mixed together in a glutenous gravy-like mixture. I picked the carrots and potatoes out of and ate those because that's all I could stomach. The chicken was odd-looking. It was tiny little pieces that looked like chicken dribble. I don't know how to explain it, other than to say it looked like those little pieces that boil off of the chicken and float around in the water when you boil it. Weird. The crust looked delicious, but when I broke a piece off and tasted it, it tasted like the smell of a dirty dishrag. I was so disappointed. The picture on the menu looked so good. The waitress was slow and never offered a tea refill. This was our first and last trip to Shoney's. Would I eat here again? No. Would I recommend Shoney's to friends or relatives? No. Did I feel I got my money's worth. No. I think we're lucky we didn't get sick. Do NOT eat at this nasty place.

We just had lunch here, and was very pleased. Found it by checking trip advisor while in the area. The sausage and chicken gumbo was delish. Hubby ordered shrimp and fish basket. Loved the light breading on it, and their tarter sauce was the best. I could just eat it with a spoon. Planning on eating there again while we are in the area.

Dont look in the kitchen if cleanliness concerns you. Ceiling tiles are all stained up and missing, walls are filthy, food on floor etc....Food is okay but no all that special..I wont go back because of the mediocre food and filthy kitchen.

Much nicer appearance than the street view. Very clean and a super staff. Our server was delightful and informative. As this was our first visit she took the time to answer our many questions. Very broad menu including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The quality and quantity of our food was excellent and reasonably priced. Well worth the visit.

Located this gem on internet. Wonderful choice providing friendly, prompt service & very delicious menu items. Our choices were: gumbo, potato salad, shrimp, crab & corn bisque, grilled Tilapia entree (well seasoned), sweet potato fries and the huge bowl of Bayou Pasta. Food came out quickly and was the perfect temperature! Menu offers a wide variety and daily specials as well. Lots of locals who know where to go for a super lunch. Make a stop there--you won't regret it!

Upscale dining by candlelight, along the Atchafalaya River. Reservations accepted for parties of 2 or more. Full cocktail, martini and wine bar, also serving dinner for the business traveler.
Have been to Cafe Jo Jos on several ocassions when in Morgan City. The food, drinks, and atmosphere have always been excellent. My only complaint is that they often run out of specific items, however it won't deter me from returning to this great little home owned restaurant. Highly recommend this jewel in the swamp.

Rita Mae's Kitchen in Morgan City, LA is a quaint but amazing dining experience worth trying. Their famous chicken stew is unparalleled anywhere in anywhere in the South. Its inexpensive, incredibly food with a very loyal clientele. This may be one of Mor
We went there for lunch strictly on the recommendation on trip advisor. It was a fun experience, nice lady serving, but food was absolutely nothing to write home about. the place sits in an old shack building and has not seen any paint in 50 years. Inside is clean but everything is very worn. It's also very small: 5 tables and a big Coca Cola fridge. Food is mostly fried stuff and our 6 shrimps with some oven cooked potatoes and out of the can green beans were not worth 5 stars. Nothing against the restaurant but I just want to stress out that it is way over rated on trip advisor.
