The menu says to ask about the local brews. Our waitress (when she finally arrived) had no clue and simply mentioned one they had at the last Chiliâs sheâd worked at. We had to practically beg her to go find out. We eventually ordered a rack of ribs to split. They took about an hour to arrive, during which time our waitress was nowhere to be seen. I thought ribs were slow cooked so they should be ready pretty much anytime. The beans on the side were lukewarm/cold, the asparagus was hard. The ribs were pretty good - the only reason the rating is one step above terrible - but the rack seemed rather small. After our food had finally arrived our waitress disappeared again. My wife finally got up and tracked her down to ask for more sauce. To make sure this wouldnât be another half hour wait, she stepped part way into the kitchen. The place was filthy! If weâd seen this earlier weâd have left and got a pizza somewhere.Oh, when weâd finished our meal, the waitress finally came by and asked if weâd like water. All this lousy service was on a quiet Monday night. To add insult to injury, when paying the bill using the automated tabletop device, it defaults to a tip of 20% on the after-tax amount! Not bloody likely.

The restaurant was clean enough, but it was hard to get into due to construction. I didn't mind that, but the staff could use some help. Our breakfast was good, so I won't complain about the food. But if you want to be surrounded by friendly, pleasant staff, you are going to have to look somewhere else. Thankfully we were just traveling through, so we won't be worried about going back.

I would recommend this place to anyone. A bit hard to find as it is hidden in the back of a mall but worth looking for. Her menu runs the gauntlet from unusual Cajun style food like the Moe's Crawfish Bread, seasoned cream, sautéed crawfish, and Parmesan cheese stuffed in French bread and topped with mozzarella cheese, to the traditional Seafood Platter. All are served with love that makes them special. I had the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, large Gulf shrimp wrapped in thick applewood bacon, rubbed with blackening seasoning, and baked. Yummie! My sister-in-law and brother each had the Shrimp Platter and substituted the fries for a wholesome green veggie side dish. Equally delicious. But do save room for dessert. The Sinful Chocolate Cream Cake, made of two-layer chocolate cake infused with RumChata liquor and topped with chocolate icing, homemade whipped cream, strawberries, and blueberries, is a lip smacker.

This is a gem of a little place in LaPlace. Very casual, versatile menu and every dish our group ordered was great! Very fresh seafood and has some Italian dishes also. Very friendly, attentive and efficient wait staff.

It's unpretentious, tucked in a strip center on the main drag. Lettering on the plate glass says "plate lunches." They also have a good selection of po boys, sandwiches and salads. Andrew made me one of the best muffalettas I've had in a long, long time. Dad's catfish plate barely fit in the foam box (I said it was unpretentious.) You can eat in or take out. Of course there's sweet tea. I travel through La Place regularly these days and will stop again.

I read the reviews and saw the good, the bad and the ugly. I was so confused after reading them, I decided to go and try the place out. I ordered the whole stuffed fried flounder for $24.00. Before I start the review, be it known Iâm an avid Louisiana angler for over 50 years and know how to clean and cook fish. When I tell you every inch of the fish was battered and fried, Iâm not exaggerating. The top of the fish was split down the middle long ways from head to tail and spread wide opened and battered inside and outside and fried, and fried, and fried, turning the meat crumbly, no moisture left inside the fish. Furthermore, the fish was not cleaned well enough either. There were still some internals left near where the head was removed. The menu said the flounder was topped with a crab meat and crawfish cream sauce. I didnât see any crawfish in the barely recognizable cream sauce and the crab meat was a dressing. This was the worse stuffed flounder I have ever eaten.
