Not too many people last Thursday night when my wife and I went for our 37th Anniversary. We had been here several years ago and never seemed to have had a good enough reason to come back to this very nice place, grat service, and high end food. For two of us we had:- shareda perach salad and a Crab-Brie soup (both very good);- a Veal with 3 sauces (excellent)- a seafodd special - Hake ( Also excellent);- a bottle of Chardonnay - Maurice Martin, good and complimentary with our food;- a white chocolate brownie (with ice cream fantastic);- they also brought us a complimentary appetizer (Amuse Bouche);- and since we let them know it was our Anniversary, a special dessert - Chocolate Torte -with Happy Anniversary in icing written on top!(So tell them if its a special occassion)Overall a very nice Anniversary Dinner.

Went for a late lunch with husband and mother-in-law. We had the Blackened Alligator appetizer and cup of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo; both were very good. Husband had Blackened Shrimp Pasta (Very Good), I had the Blackened Redfish which came with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes (which was fantastic) but mother-in-law had the fried oysters that were not good, very gritty. Service was fantastic and dessert was awesome too (Berry Cobbler a la mode and White Chocolate Bread Pudding!!!)

We stumbled on this cafe by accident after spending the morning picking blueberries at a nearby farm. What a wonderful cool, calm & super friendly oasis! The greeting & subsequent service were very restorative. The menu was surprisingly unique. Smoked salmon and smoked trout on a breakfast menu-Iâm impressed. All of the ingredients were extremely fresh. My husband swore he had the best over-medium eggs he was ever served in any restaurant, because they cooked them right! Thereâs lots of attention to customer service at this place.

This restaurant serves fried and broiled seafood dishes as well as Louisiana dishes including etouffe and jambalaya. The food is good and fairly plentiful but may not live up to expectations based on the long-standing reputation of the original restaurant. (Sorry) It's also at or above the mid-range in cost, especially if you order drinks and desserts. The dining area is a large open space that has televisions mounted in the corners of the room.

One of three Chimes locations.
Fabulous food in a beautiful, clean, airy, refreshing restaurant in a beautiful location. Wait staff, particularly Bee, are fast, efficient and helpful. The food was above our expectations as this is some of the best Southern & Cajun food we have eaten!!Portions are large and prices reasonable. The blackened alligator appetizer was excellent, the fried catfish & shrimp dinner was excellent, but the Duck and Sausage gumbo was the best ever and I can call it "To Die For", yum, yum ! ! ! The White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Pecan Bourbon Sauce was divine. The Chimes is good for everyone, couples, family, friends, business and solo customers.Do yourself a favor and eat here, you will be glad you did.

The menu is customizable and they easily accommodated my dietary requirements of gluten, dairy, egg and garlic-free.For those of you who donât have the restrictions, others in my party squealed (not exactly squeal) with delight when eating the chocolate dome and toffee crepe brûlée.One note: if you order a meal to accommodate a food intolerance CHECK your meal carefully when it arrives as the kitchen staff was on âautomatic pilotâ when preparing my meal causing my meal to require being made over again.

There are two Gallagher Restaurants, one in Covington and one in Mandeville. So if you make reservations be sure you confirm the location. The one in Mandeville named 527 was hard to find next to a strip mall. The important thing of course was the service and food. Excellent on both counts from the shrimp remoulade to the cream brûlée. You canât go wrong here. The owner came to our table to welcome us and gave us the dessert complimentary. We will be back!

I have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time. Last Saturday I stopped by as they opened to check it out. The dining room is nicely appointed with ceiling fans and windows overlooking the greenery near the river. I ordered the Catfish Lafayetta - stupendous. My wife would not stop talking about how good it was all afternoon. I also order a Catfish Poboy and a Shrimp Poboy. My expectations were low since we have some really good Poboy restaurants in Covington. I should have raised them - they were terrific. Overflowing with their contents and nicely dressed on fresh bread. All three of these dishes are moving this restaurant up my list of great places to eat in our fine city.

Striving to be the best breakfast restaurant in Covington, Mattina Bella is so named because it means âbeautiful morningâ. Mattina Bella is the quintessential neighborhood breakfast spot - one of the quaint little âgemsâ that are getting harder to find. B
This place is enormously popular with locals. Servers are friendly and efficient and the breakfast omlets are great! It's pretty noisy at high traffic times, but there are two sidewalk tables for those lucky enough to arrive when they are vacant.

Recently visited The Half Shell with a family member. We ordered a dozen raw oysters and the crab cake appetizer. The oysters were extremely small and dry. The crab cakes were small, pan fried and had a below average flavor. We ordered bisque and half fried oysters and fried shrimp. The bisque was excellent, shrimp were good, oysters were way over cooked. Drinks were good, along with the service. Very nice atmosphere. I will not return due to the food quality. Very expensive for what we received. For the prices, quality should have been much better. Dear tmitchell38305,We are so sorry to hear about your experience at the Covington location. We didn't live up to the high standards that we are known for. We have contacted the location about your experience and we will be in the restaurant to look at the problem. If you ever have any issues with the food, please contact the General Manager of the location. thank you for your feedback.
