Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Puerto Montt. Established by German immigrants in 1853, this is now the key port, transit and business hub of the Lakes District – a good place to replenish supplies, pick up Chilean crafts and get an urban jolt before moving on to more pristine pastures. If you're in the mood to sample some of the famous local salmon, the Angelmo harbor market should be your first stop. From there, it's a short boat ride across to Tenglo Island for views of snow-capped volcanic peaks. Santiago is a two-hour flight away.

Restaurant Gaia - Peruvian Modern Cuisine. Our cuisine respects the quality of the local produce from Patagonia: unique fresh seafood, locally sourced vegetables and delicious free range meat - prepared with a mix of tradition and modern European and Asia
The concept of "Gaia" is to present flavours from around the world. The slogan in Spanish is: "...un mundo de sabores...", which translates to: "a world of flavours".You can find the flavours presented in the format of pizza such as "Can Cun" with inspiration from Mexico with nachos, jalapeño, marinated beef and sour cream sauce, or "Le Bleu" with French inspiration: blue cheese, fruit confit, beef and rucula.Gourmet hamburgers in another way to present flavours from around the world: "Torero" with spanish chorozo sausage, sheep cheese and red pepper sauce.Other examples are dishes such as "Tikka Masala" from India, the TexMex classic "Chili con Carne, Peruvian "Ajà de Gallina" and "Hummus" from middle east. And not to forget delicious desserts such as "Tarte Tatin", "Crema Volteada" and "Tiramisu".The restaurant offers several vegetarian and vegan options, and to drink, the large selection of freshly prepared fruit juices can be recommended. Or a cocktail or artisan beer...The facilities are nice and comfortable, and are suited both for families, couples and business meetings. The prices are moderate.Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I are vegetarians, and although there are not many options for vegetarians on the menu, the waiter, Herman was super helpful and accommodating, and even the chef came out to speak with us to offer us a special vegetarian sandwich. Great food, great vibe, and great service.
