My partner had a fantastic salmon so would probably be more generous with their review! For us lesser mortal vegetarians it was not so glowing. I chose the only veggie option on the Menu and waited and waited for it to arrive while my nearest and dearest tucked into her Salmon. Eventually, as she was finishing, a plate of chips arrived for me. Apparently the veggie option was off! An unpalatable end to a tough days walking, that even a cold beer failed to rectify.
When we arrived, the door to the restaurant was locked. So we asked at the shop downstairs, and the woman at the cash register said her mother would unlock and cook for us. It's a family affair! There were only 3 dishes available. One of us had the fresh, grilled salmon. It was good. The others in our party all had the chupe de centolla. We had no idea whatthat was, even after discussing it in Spanish with the lady chef. Chupe de centolla turns out to a casserole of Antarctic King Crab with cream and cheese. Fabulous! So filling and tasty. Went well with Kunstmann beer. Don't be fooled by appearances: El Faro is a good place to eat. Also, it has very nice view of the Reloncavi Estuary and the little lighthouse from which the restaurant gets its name.
