As I travel throughout Peru, one of the types of foods that I love to eat is the cebiche. In Iquitos, Coma y Punto is outstanding for cebiche! The restaurant is clean with a fresh smell. The cebiche is delicious and there are many variations to choose from including combos so you can try several types. The arroz con mariscos at Coma y Punto is delicious. Even though I was more than full with the cebiche and some of the huge portion of arroz con mariscos, the flavor was so good I just coundn't stop. Almost addictive!Great location is easy to get to, and only a few short blocks from the Plaza de Armas and other central Iquitos locations.I will be going back again to Coma y Punto!Enjoy!

It's about 11 soles for the chicken dinner here. The best roasted chicken I had while in Peru (except for Pardo's Chicken in Lima). Only a couple of blocks from the main square.

I had heard that El Sombrero de Paja was a great place to eat. But I was surprised when I walked in the door to find not just a restaurant, but an entire city block of restaurant, bar, swimming pool with fountains of water, soccer fields, childrens play area, volley ball, DJ and live entertainment, event and group party areas, hotel rooms, fish pond with paiche and even a caiman! We took a table near the pool. You would not think you were in Iquitos but went through a portal to another place. There was no taxi or street noise! The waiter was quick to offer us our menu for selection of the daily special foods available. We ordered a pitcher of refresco camu camu to enjoy while we looked over the menu before ordering. The pool area was not overcrowded and families with their children were having fun swimming and playing. The selections were reasonably priced and we ordered fish chicharrons, duck with rice and a regional tacacho with cecina. While the food was being prepared, I took a walk to see some of the area. There was a full size soccer field and a game going. The grass was perfectly manicured. Another field had a volley ball net set up. A huge air filled plastic slide about 25 feet tall was going for the children to enjoy. A group had gathered at a pond, and the owner was feeding the full size paiche. The paiche would take the small fish offering from a metal rod with a whoosh! The paiche were about 2 1/2 meters long!Music was playing with a singer for live entertainment. And he was very good!Returned as the food was being served. I was very hungry and pleasantly surprised at the large portions of chicharrons. For the duck, it was a large portion also with more than a quarter of a duck. And the seasoned rice that came with it was full of flavor.Service was very attentive and was quick to bring anything requested, such as extra pitchers of refresco!I will return and take my swim clothes with me to enjoy the pool on a hot Iquitos day!Enjoy!

La Mishquina offers a set price lunch menu including a starter, main course, dessert, and a jungle fruit juice beverage (refresco). Prices are good and normal for a better quality menu of about s/12 soles (aprx US$4.50) and that includes the 2 courses, dessert and beverage!I have tried several different selections as I have returned many times. One of the best restaurants in Iquitos for lunch. Every selection was delicious, large portions and nice presentation. The service is some of the best in the Amazon with attentive waiters.Highly recommended and maybe you will see me there at another lunch!

It is an OK restaurant with a lot to choose from, including fish. Nevertheless I would not say that it fully justifies their prices. You get a feeling that there is some pretension to be a top-end restaurant but food and service still need to be improved. Good view of the river.

A cute little place, close to the main square. Service is actually pretty good, small but adequate bar, wines. Food leans Peruvian with nice presentations and little touches.

Another in the list of 8 or 10 restaurants within a couple of blocks, all of whom are decent but not great. They have some interesting local dishes - my wife enjoyed her alligator steak. Friendly, as are the rest, and comfortable, but not particularly memorable.

Very big, clean, nicely decorated place. I was skeptical at first as it seem a bit touristy but the place does get packed, always a good sign. Food is very good and the staff is very attentive. Always eager to explain dishes and make suggestions. Go early as it does get loud with the musical performance.

This is a very good restaurant with excellent daily menu option. The food was really good, the staff was nice, however English wasnât the strong side of them. The daily menu is cheap, 16 Soles for starter, main dish and drink, the quality was really good. Itâs a pity, they are closed for dinner.
