Reviews on Cafe food in Varenna, Lombardy, Italy. Varenna is a slow-paced destination—most visitors come here to relax by the lake. But even if "Working on my tan" is the #1 thing on your itinerary, take some time to explore the area. There’s the Castello di Vizio, a medieval fortress surrounded by an olive grove. And you’ll want to view the old, tiered gardens at the Villa Cipressi—they stretch all the way down to the water. Finally, visit the source of the Fiumelatte, a peculiar river—it’s only 250 m long and disappears from October to March.

This is a perfect little bar to stop and have a cold beer whilst watching people go by. Sat outside you are virtually in the small road that runs through Bellagio town, and directly opposite a small square with the Basilica di San Giacomo bells ringing to your left. There is a small fountain in the square that was quenching the thirst of tourists and locals alike. The waiter told us immediately that they do not sell food but a beer or two was in order and not expensive at all. â¬4.50 for a cold one sat in the sunshine in Bellagio seemed fair to me. There is a small shop inside selling the usual gelato and tourist sweets and gifts staffed by two very old men. All in all a very nice place to be.

Surprise to enjoy a great lunch of melon and prosciutto and probably the best thin crust pizza so far on our trip to Lake Como. Great place to watch the lake ferries come in and out and see the mountains with the sun setting behind us. Could even see the castle above Varenna that we hiked up to yesterday.

Have just spent a great week on Lake Como at Hotel Cadenabbia where the rooms were comfortable and the food was of a high standard. The roof terrace was delightful and the recently refurbished pool and facilities were excellent. The Riviera representative named Elizabeth with lots of other names, who comes from Chile did a sterling job throughout the week, nothing was too much for her and she supplied us with useful information on a daily basis. One of Elizabeth's recommendations was that we all visit Bar Victoria on the Tuesday night to listen to The Italian Stallion a local singer. What a great night that turned out to be in a very quirky establishment with the local owner and his friendly bar maids one from Hartlepool one from Doncaster and one from Como a night to remember with classic Italian style opera and assorted standards followed by a good old sing song encouraging audience participation. The drink flowed and a good time was had by all highly recommended if you're ever passing just call in for a very friendly welcome.

Slowly eating one of their light-as-air filled croissants, and sipping a double espresso or cappuccino is how my husband and I begin many of our mornings here in Varenna. They also serve many other food and beverage items, along with postcards, calendars, and they even sell train tickets - one stop shopping!

Modern, informal cafe up in Varenna centre overlooking a piazza. Had excellent sandwiches- the bresaola, soft cheese, oil and pepper piadina was particularly good. Drinks served well. Service could have been friendlier.

Cute Cafè, taste good wines, breakfasts, sandwiches, ice creams. Our superior wines come from Piemonte, Friuli and Tuscany
My mother and I (Australians) were here for 2 nights. Spent a whole day coming to this bar/restaurant. Brilliant service, coffee and croissant in the morning, afternoon drinks. Service was brilliant, prices excellent. A must do in this beautiful little town. So peaceful and a place to recharge the batteries. Donât go to busy Bellagio. Stay here and take the bus there for a few hours, then stay here. Much more authentic â¤ï¸

Great location to people and lake watch, gets very busy so you can expect a wait at times, nice menu options, the beer's are cold though!

We dined here twice whilst in Varenna. Itâs a casual place for dinner and drinks. We had a couple of more formal meals in Varenna, but we really enjoyed the casual atmosphere of Tutti Frutti. Drinks came with canapés which was so lovely. The first night we both had excellent pizzas and the second night my husband had exactly the same. I branched our and had the lasagne with a salad which was lovely. If you just want to sit and relax and enjoy the views and feel like a simple meal, I thoroughly recommend.
