This is the first time I experience such a poor service in a restaurant. We took our order from what was on the menù, unaware of what was about to happen. A few minutes after ordering, the owner came to our table, telling us that we had no idea of what we were doing and that they don't usually serve food that way, without being too specific, as they are a real japanese restaurant. At first, we thought that his intentions were genuine, but as soon as he tried to convince us, without anyone making any complain about the food or any apparent reason, that the glowing orange salmon was the real salmon (we know that natural fish doesnt get to that color without supplements in its food) and that the white tuna was the real tuna (in my country its called fake tuna to be honest)and that we have never tasted real fish before, we knew we were being scammed. I've never seen any restaurant owner being so unprofessional and arrogant, he basically tried to force us to choose some pricy starters that would have cost a lot more than other dishes, if we didn't he would go on about how unexperienced and silly we were and how traditional and pure was his kitchen style. As a result we left the restaurant. And that's the choice I think many people took since the restaurant was empty at 8.30 pm on saturday. Don't bother trying this place.NO FOR US… IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME!!Dear Paula.. (I remember you)… Ignorance is something really unpleasant, so I’m sorry for you and your friends. You’re the prototypical ignoramus that owing to a lack of knowledge accuse others of “SCAMMING!!”In my 20 years of experience I’ve heard a lot of nonsense, but you’ve managed to excel in it!So here are some necessary clarifications to clear up that happened and, above all, educate you!Frankly, I was unsure whether to respond given that we’re dealing with some kids that in reality don’t actually know what we’re talking about… but since we’re talking about my job, my profession: let’s talk about it! And do you know why? Because I’m not going to be fooled around with by 3 ignorant kids!1 Dear Paula, well said: talking about fake tuna!!! Maybe in your country it’s what they serve… BUT I can inform you that the tuna that the “white” tuna we served you is “long finned tuna” and it’s one of the softest, most expensive and finest you can find.2 Dear Paula, you also said a series of nonsense so grave regarding the salmon that you were served (which you refer to as TUNA) that I’m difficulty to give you an explanation… I’m tempted to ask National Geographic for help but also this time I’ll try, however, promise me something: THIS TIME PAY MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY… the salmon on question is originally from Canada and Alaska, it’s red because it lives in shallow waters, eats red shrimp and is super slim because it goes up river… it’s called SOCKEYE…. bla bla bla!!! I could continue endlessly but frankly it doesn’t interest me….When I arrived at your table to clarify things (NO SCAM… you should be ashamed for using such a defamatory term) it was to simply explain the type of cuisine we do and I wanted (since you booked thanks to TripAdvisor) to explain the enthusiasm of so many people that taste the SOSAKU, the cuisine we serve at MOOKUZAI... totally different to what you probably eat, which is called EDOMAE.PS. As you you well know, while you were dining at MOOKUZAI, some big World Cup matches were being shown on TV… One last thing, your friend had booked for 20:30 and you rocked up at 21:15… (on a normal “Saturday evening at MOOKUZAI” we would have had to cancel your reservation which would have saved us enduring such a pointless debate. Do me a favor and watch out for scams!ARIGATOMOOKUZAI

We passed this bistro a couple of times while walking in between our hotel and the metro. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of the food and service. On first appearances we thought it was a seafood place but in fact there were plenty of options for meat and vegetarian dishes. The wine list is very good and the ‘by the glass’ option very apt after a few aperitivos... The desserts were excellent too. Very friendly and attentive staff - and reasonable prices.

situated off the beaten paths (25min walk from the Duomo), this trendy restaurant offers a nice garden (mosquitos) and very good food. Service was friendly. Starters are meant to be shared: we had perfect fish carpaccio with truffle, delicious shrimps and taco assortment. Main dishes were all correct, except the ribs (served on a small table bbq) who were to dry. Nice cocktail- and winelist.Dear Customer, We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience from Kowa and we thank you for the excellent review. We really hope to see you again soon. Came in on a Friday evening with no reservation for 2 people- able to sit us immediately. Ordered the Sharon Roll (grilled salmon) and Tropical Roll (fried shrimp). DELICIOUS. I particularly loved the Sharon Roll!! Each Roll was about 12-13 euros and has 8 pieces. Nice atmosphere, very dark with minimal lighting. Good service and friendly/helpful server. They spoke English well! Would recommend!

Let me preempt this with the fact that I have been to a lot of Michelin Star restaurants and have become quite the snob. My expectations nevertheless are always set low going into a restaurant like this. This restaurant has enormous potential but lacks in their service. My wife arrived last night only to be made to wait 20 minutes for our table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came around to speak to us. At one point I even flagged down a waiter to ask them what was going on.We were offered the choice between a reflection menu and a standard menu, a 40 euro difference. The reflection menu was meant to “reflect” us, yet it did nothing to that effect. We found it a gimmick, with most people receiving the same menu with the exception of one or two plates. Into our sixth straight seafood dish we asked them why it was not progressing with anything else. We told them we did not like seafood and they apologized for not asking us that earlier. I realized then that they had never asked us what we liked. They simply asked us if we didn’t want something. We told them our allergies, yet they didn’t make any effort to elaborate on what the menu would be like. Perhaps ask us a few more questions like: do you like seafood, chocolate etc. The whole time at dinner we were seen as the ugly stepchild. Maybe it was the fact that we complained. Maybe it was because we were seen as the tourists who weren’t happy. Our plates were rushed out in comparison to others. Poor descriptions, a mess of waiters all avoiding us and what seemed to be less dishes than others. Now some of the food was delicious. The donut, the duck, the cake at the end. The dinner was full of surprises. But none of that mattered because we were treated so poorly. It ruined the experience. We are paying a lot of money to attend your restaurant. We shouldn’t be leaving unhappy.

Having tried so many top Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong, this is the only place I chose to return within a 9-day trip. Food is impeccable. Fresh ingredients, attention to details, excellent presentation. Only thing to improve can be the sake list. Overall, I will be back to Milan just to be back here.
