Reviewed By pech0rinaI have eaten in the restaurant associated with this hostel a couple of times and since I needed to return to the city for an event, I thought I would try out the hostel because I know the city well and don't need to be right in the centre. Upon trying to book my reservation, I was told that they are imposing the health pass throughout the hotel (not just in the restaurant space - which is what the law requires here in France). They also repeatedly mentioned mask-wearing etc. which is fine, but it does not make for a good experience when making a booking. Of course, the health requirements are important, but I have decided to stay elsewhere because I find it strange to discriminate against people without the health pass with such zeal. I prefer to spend my money elsewhere and in a less anxiety-inducing place. I don't want to have to show my health pass each time I come and go from a hotel.

A fabulous 5 star B&B experience
Reviewed By Karen RJust a few minutes walk from the centre of Saumur, Aux Marquises offers stunning Chambres D'Hôtes in a beautiful house. The owners, Helene and Joel are delightful hosts who have renovated the house in a way that maintains its original character and the grand proportions of the rooms. The bedrooms are all individually decorated with plenty of design flair that mixes period and contemporary features with bold design elements that work beautifully and maintains a fabulous French style throughout. We stayed in one of the largest rooms, Josephine, an enormous elegant room, with a bed that I could have spent a week in and a huge sitting area to relax in. The large bathroom with its standalone bath and walk-in shower adds to the feeling of luxury throughout. Breakfast was a delight, with plenty of choice including fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, pastries and bread all beautifully presented. On the second day we were treated to the most delicious homemade pancakes. This is really a very special place and I am very much looking forward to a return visit.

We offer bed and breakfast and hostel style accommodation in our Water Mill in the Saumur area of the Parc naturel regional Loire-Anjou-Touraine. If you fancy an overnight stop or maybe a longer break in a building that's not run of the mill - then stay in our Mill! We have double rooms, twin rooms, triple rooms and, for those on a budget and happy to share, a hostel style dorm.

Reviewed By Victor WMoulin2Roues is situated on the banks of the river Thouet just 5 hours drive from Calais. The location of this lovely property with working water wheels makes an ideal base to explore this fabulous area of France. Saumur and the Loire are a must and a short drive away. If you are looking for something different bikes and kayaks are availabe for hire. Friendly and caring hosts make you very welcome. Loved the experience.

Reviewed By froggyranitaHotel tout neuf situé dans une zone commerciale. Grand parking gratuit. Chambre spacieuse très propre et comme tout est neuf, c'est très agréable. Piscine extérieure couverte. Possibilité de réserver des VTC. Bouteille d'eau offerte dans la chambre. Les moins: check-in seulement à 16h. Chambres pas prêtes pour notre check-in. Petit-déjeuner à 16 euros bien trop cher pour ce que l'on reçoit.

One of the worst places we've stayed in France!
Reviewed By Mobile7572Building is reminiscent of a hospital or asylum. On arrival we were told that the smoke alarm in the room is very sensitive to steam, so we should close the bathroom door and open the window when showering. But when we asked how to open the window we were told the lock was broken. There is no shower screen or curtain and the shower unit is over the toilet. This resulted in some interesting gymnastics to try to avoid water on every surface of the bathroom. Very minimal self catering facilities - one kettle that doesn't work properly and a microwave. Unable to locate a tea towel to wipe up our mugs after a cuppa. Staff are friendly but that's about all we can say. Nowhere near the standard offered by the YHA in the UK and Australia. Do not recommend staying here.
6. Chateau Le Fresne
Château de bord de Loire de fin XIXème, fraichement restauré et réhabilité. Le château vous offre des chambres atypiques et confortables dans un écrin de verdure à quelques minutes d'Angers. Vous pourrez également apprécier la piscine et le jacuzzi mis à votre disposition. Un gîte de 7 personnes est situé dans l'orangerie du château, il fera des enfants heureux grâce au poulailler qui se trouve face au gîte dans lequel vous trouverez de nombreux animaux.
