Things to do in Springwood
The Gathering Spot took a fire to come into their own. They moved into pop up space in the IGA carpark and they won some hearts. They are now back in their original spot serving great coffee matched with fantastic food. A nice touch for winter are throws to keep you warm. Staff are welcoming and the man in the kitchen turns out some tasty morsels. There is a standing menu with rotating specials, highlights so far Nasi Goreng with haloumi, The Carnivore - Wagyu mince with chorizo and feta and my favourite eggs benni with mushrooms. Come and see for yourself it won't be your only visit.
A couple of weeks ago, on the way to taking my husband to Brisie Airport, we stopped off for breakfast at the Leather Lane Cafe. Before we left, I called them up to find out exactly where they were located, & was told that they were based in the BMW Mini Showroom.Hmmmm... that should be interesting-I had never heard of a cafe being set in a car showroom before... well don't let that put you off! The setting was certainly different, but it made the experience much more fun!Our breakfasts was one of the best breakfasts we had ever enjoyed! Not only is the setting different, but so is The Lane's breakfast menu; no eggs benedict ( which seems to be on EVERY restaurant/cafe breaky menu! ) to choose here, but a bacon packed burrito, pea&ham omelette, avo & feta on sourdough with a balsamic&avo oil, & it goes on!All in a wonderful setting, seated amongst brand spanking new & shiny motors-on one side BMW Minis, & with motorbikes on the other, you are literally surrounded by shiny chrome & powerful vehicles-different & fun!Not having had black pudding for YEARS, I went straight for the breakfast that included it...a Leather-Lane-take on a full English; black pudding, bacon, poached eggs & mushrooms. And I must tell you, the Black pud was absolutely DEEEEELICIOUS!!I can be quite a "foodie" at times, & their black pud was cooked EXACTLY how it should be! And the bacon? Crispy, & with several slices, make sure you are super hungry- 'cause you won't want to leave anything left on the plate! The only negative thing about my breakfast choice, was that my poached eggs were not soft with a runny yolk, as requested... but hey, I still very much enjoyed my breakfast! My husband chose the breakfast burrito; absolutely crammed with bacon, rocket salad, egg & LOTS of Cheddar cheese (& I mean LOTS of cheese! ) this was, by far, a very moreish dish....& he absolutely LOVED it!!So the breakfasts got big ticks, but how about the coffee?Well, I wasn't impressed; I may be a "foodie", but I also know my coffee, & I can be fussy with that too. My cappuccino wasn't strong, or made entirely with froth, as requested. And my husband, who is alot less fussy (in fact, he doesn't like to fuss at all), ordered a mocha, & wasn't impressed either, trading only chocolate & no coffee whatsoever. So, all in all, I highly recommend the breakfasts! And if you definitely get a kick out of being surrounded by expensive goods, or any type of vehicles, you'll love the Leather Lane Cafe & it's breakfasts!
We have stopped at this coffee shop often, today the woman who took our order was quite rude. This is not we normally expect from this shop. Fortunately the lady who delivered our order made up for the rudeness by being very friendly. Not good enough Coffee Club

Visited Christopherâs Fine Foods for breakfast on the weekend. The menu was varied and interesting catering for all diets. We had the special of the day, Vegie Stack and it was delicious. My friend brought her puppy who was greeted with food and a bowl of water. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We did feel very welcome. I would be very happy to recommend this venue to anyone. I will definitely be returning , maybe to try the tapas .
Loved the set up of this little cafe. A great variety of dishes on the menu and the ingredients looked very fresh. I chose the zucchini and corn fritters(there were 2 of them)with avocado, feta and sprouts that were delicious. I also had a chocolate milkshake. Cost for the two items was $22. Definitely check this cafe out especially if you are shopping for house goods in the Home Centre.
Tucked away. Air conditioned. Quiet. Inexpensive and very good food. Table service. Lots of unlimited free parking. Good coffee. Daily specials. One needs adequate time to fit in with the slow and thorough preparation of one's order.
After work function - could have done with a little more food for the number of people we had - about 15. make sure you ask what you get for your money before you book.

Family of 6 dining for Saturday lunch, requested a high chair but straps had been removed so it wasnât safe for toddler to use, kept climbing out so we ended up sitting her at the table where we could better monitor her. We sat for a long while before having to ask for menus, waitress said she didnât notice us.Meals were delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately one meal came out a good 20 minutes after all the others so this was very disappointing. Coffee was very nice, however even though I ordered extra hot it was served lukewarm. We had a lovely, pleasant visit and as I said the meals were really good, just needs a few tweaks. Would probably return to try again. Thank you.

Loved this place. The cooking reminded me of nanas. I ordered the avocado on rye with goats cheese and added bacon. Service was quick and friendly. The portion was big 3 slices of rye bread. My daughter had the devilled mushrooms but believed you definitely need to add the sausage for extra flavour. It was delicious. Her iced mocha she said was good. I had the pineapple and mint frappe. I would suggest to save it for summer.
