What a lovely Hide-away.

We were lucky enough to find Melville House and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the 'old-world' atmosphere & facilities. Everything was very clean and comfortable. On the basis of value-for-money, cleanliness and comfort, it easily deserves a 5-Star rating . The reasons I gave 4 stars (rather than 5) were that after all, it is not a luxury venue, shops/cafes are not within walking distance and parking was a little difficult. Also, the 3-Stars I gave for 'Service' was not because there was any problem with the service; it's just that we couldn't really form an opinion: after checking in we had no need of any service & departed early the next morning.

A very pleasant stay
Reviewed By GregS2754An excellent stay at this motel. The room was very comfortable and the meal superb - completed by a delicious bonus brownie created by one of the young owners. I thoroughly recommend this motel if you're travelling to the Lismore area you will enjoy it.

Reviewed By JC594I had a short but great stay at the Lismore Gateway and it was fantastic. The staff were so helpful with every part of my stay and I will be staying there again when in the area. I have stayed in many motels/hotels and this was by far one of the cleanest placed ever... If there was one thing that I would mention that could've been better and it's only minor, my room service was a little cold when it arrived.

Reviewed By Kevin51This was the best motel in which I stayed on a recent NSW North Coast trip. The fittings were very modern and clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The mini bar was very well stocked with a wide variety of drinks, snacks and treats, all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By Dr Raymond DWe picked this motel online and knew it was a three-star establishment. Although the rooms were 70s style, all appliances worked well and the cleanliness could not be faulted. The motel was only a few metres walk from the main street.

We are only a short walk to Cinema, Theatre venues and the Lismore Workers Club, which all provide entertainment attractions. The newly built Lismore Arts Centre is adjacent to our enclosed courtyard parking area.

Reviewed By 666peckerCheck in was a breeze the hosts were extremely friendly room very clean which is number one priority for me. Centrally located so easy walk to pubs, cafes etc for a bite to eat. Security was great once your parked the only way out is through the large remote controlled roller door. Room was comfortable and decent size would stay again.

Reviewed By JulzVegasHorrible uncomfortable rock hard bed, musty smelling rooms, some lights above the bed not working, and the shower head doesn’t stay up and it leaks. The TV is dated, there was no Netflix or any other kind of streaming service available. The rooms are outdated, the fridge in the room is very loud, and during my incredibly restless night some weird lights above the bed (perhaps smoke detectors) decided to come on. Dinner was average. The sound of the water gushing through the pipes as someone used the bathroom in another room was not at all comforting. I understand this is a regional motel and not the Ritz Carlton, but it needs an overhaul. I’ve stayed at far nicer motels in other regional areas. Staff at check in and restaurant were friendly and very welcoming.
