La Baracca is open for breakfast and lunch from Monday through to Thursday. We are open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday. Using local boutique coffee "Botero" from Maclean, and sourcing fresh local ingredients for our kitchen, La Baracca will tempt you from every angle. There is also a wide selection of Boutique beer and award winning wine that can be matched to any meal.
La Baracca is a small restaurant, beautifully decorated with friendly staff.
It is by some regarded as an esteemed culinary experience in Lismore, and I would have supported such a statement in the past, however it seems to have plateaued and rested on its reputation.
The quality of food is generally quite good however I've noticed a significant difference (on a number of occasions) in the quality of food depending on how busy the restaurant is.
The staff are friendly and polite, however the wait time for food is often 40-50 minutes (and over) on weekends. Unfortunately, myself and friends/family have on two recent occasions waited for over an hour to receive our meals.
There's a chance that La Baracca happened to be unusually understaffed in the kitchen on both recent occasions, however I'd recommend that if they are going to make customers wait for up to (and over) an hour for their food (on a regular basis), that they at the very least offer customers a free beverage to make up for the wait.
It's a nice place for breakfast, however I'd recommend steering away to another restaurant if you're pressed in any way for time.

Fantastic as always. We have never had a bad meal here, the food is always fresh and cooked from scratch. Fantastic flavours and very generous serves . Very small room, seats 12 but the food makes up for everything else. BYO and the best restuarant in Lismore . Changing menu depending on season. Best pizza too. I can't rave enough about this place , so people do your self a favour and dine here !

Palate is an ambient, fully licenced cafe/restaurant nestled amongst the Gardens of Spinks Park in downtown Lismore right next door to the Lismore Regional Art Gallery.
We chose Palate for breakfast after declining another cafe in Lismore because the breakfast menu was way too hipster for us. So glad we did. The Hash Stack and the Corn Fritters we selected were excellent. The House Kale pesto was subtle enough to flavour but not overpower the lemony Hash. Poached Eggs perfectly cooked. Nice Mount of food for breakfast. Coffee was good. Service was also quick efficient and accurate. Nice quiet setting.

Dinner for one adult and a child, arrived 6.30 sat night they were busy but still happy to accomodate us without a booking. Lots of different styles of tables and chairs and couches and coffee tables etc. great outdoor dining as well but too cold for anyone to be outside. Service was really friendly and quick. I had corn fritters for $12 and my daughter 1x garlic naan $7. Both were delicious, pictures attached. Very cozy eclectic restaurant.

Hello, welcome to Cafe Saffron. we trust that you will enjoy a truly unique and distinctive dining experience with the true taste of Authentic Indian Cuisine. You will also enjoy are wide range of Alcohol which goes perfectly with Indian food, especially Kingfisher the Indian Beer and our house wine.
Cafe Saffron is a great Indian restaurant in Lismore and offers consistently high quality food and (generally) good service.
The restaurant has been decorated with vibrant Indian cultural colours (mostly red) and their speakers play calm yet uplifting and energising Indian music throughout the dining experience.
The service is fast and friendly and the quality of food is always perfect.
I'd recommend this restaurant as suitable for families, couples and large groups.

Last night I had dinner at Banzai in Lismore and had the best Soba Noodles with Karaage Chicken....... just yummy.
The restaurant was pretty busy for a Tuesday night and the Staff were fantastic.
They are a good bar with everything you need.
Seating is spacious , you have a good amount of room.
We ordered a bit of food to share which was also beautiful from sushi to lotus chips.
We had a really good feed here. Second time here and I will be back again soon.
Thanks guys

Lismore is a town still orientated towards a flood. Even nine months after the event, time here is still divided into before the flood and after the flood, in people’s narratives. The Bank Café was one of the first venues to open after Cyclone Debbie, with owner Brad Rickard promising locals affected by the flood “a night to blow off a bit of steam”. The evening was an extension upon their regular Friday night series – Buns & Hops – where live music, craft beer and an clever list of burgers, attract in the crowds. With my dinners sewn up with bookings at the region’s extensive list of fine dining restaurants, I only had time to visit The Bank Café for breakfast...
The venue itself is a curious mismatch of styles. Royal blue feature walls, a long orange banquette, and a retro Television set in a wooden cabinet help to give it a homely vibe. At the same time, the high Edwardian ceiling and dangling art nouveau lights, give the large airspace space a sense of grandeur. At the rear you'll find wooden signboards for the treasury building it once was (hence the name).
It’s a big space, and packed on the morning I visit, with just one poor waitress on the floor. She’s a little ray of Sunshine despite this undoubtedly daunting task. When I ask where I find juices in the extensive menu, she fires back: “I hide them at the back because I like the attention of being asked.” My resulting Orange, Carrot and Ginger ($6) juice comes very quickly, all things considered, but I’m not quite so lucky with my coffee.
While my dining companion’s strong Flat White ($4.30) arrives in good time, ten minutes passes without the appearance of the other. When we catch her in flight to point out the mistake, it’s quickly and apologetically rectified. The house beans are a bit bitter in the flat white, but scrub up better against more milk in my Latte ($3.80). Both coffees drink a bit thinly, lacking the level of complexity and body we both prefer.
While I stick to a breakfast designed by the café itself, my dining companion builds his own adventure, starting with Scrambled Eggs on Organic Sourdough Toast ($9.50). He adds Bacon ($4) and Hollandaise ($2), though the highlight of the plate turns out to be the house-made Potato Rostis ($3/2). These generously proportioned shredded potato cakes are the best I’ve had in ages. They’re both tasty and super-moist, meaning I'm kicking myself for not ordering my own set.
The Charred Corn and Chive Fritter Stack ($13) I did order is a heaving plate of food for the spend. The rustic vegetable fritters are accompanied by two poached eggs, a mound of bacon, smashed avocado and feta, rocket, cherry tomatoes, aioli, Stone & Wood sauce and mixed herbs, under a wedge of lime.
We leave well-fueled after joining the payment queue where a group of school girls each pay separately, adding to the poor waitress’s work load. She handles it with a warm and genuine smile for every paying customer.

An unassuming place which provides fantastic coffee and fresh lunches. We choose the Vietnamese salad. The flavours were divine and just what we needed on a hot summers day. Even though the place was busy the service was quick and attentive. Well worth a visit.
