Getting its name from the medieval Duchy of Limburg (now split among Holland, Belgium and Germany and the birthplace of the infamously pungent Limburger cheese), Limburg is the Netherlands’ southernmost region. Many of the area’s best attractions are concentrated in the capital of Maastricht, but other sights include the 12th-century Valkenburg castle ruins, the 17th-century Eijsden castle, the 20th-century Glaspaleis (built next to a medieval church at Heerlen), and De Meinweg National Park.

At only 10 minutes from downtown Maastricht you’ll find Dormio Resort Maastricht. It's the most luxurious holiday park in the south of Holland, located on the famous Dousberg. At our resort you can enjoy the peaceful rolling landscape of Limburg. The resort is fenced by a challenging golf course. The city center of Maastricht can easily be reached by public transport.
Me and my family took a home with 3 bedrooms. The house was very nice, spacious and clean. Both upper floors have bathrooms and the uppermost also had a delicious sauna. The house has all the utensils you need for your stay. The only things I found missing were an extra cupboard in the kitchen so you could store your food, a bigger and more comfortable couch (the house is for 6 ppl but couch was for 2) and sitting chairs, perhaps some more "cozy" details on the wall as it was very empty, and being able to smoke inside (though it had a very nice outside sitting). The pool is very nice for children (no lifeguard) but for adults you might find it a bit small. The restaurant is not bad but could have more choice and specially better opening hours (kitchen closes at 9PM but you won't get food after 8:30). The breakfast place has very good quality, delicious orange juice, and freshly well made pastries (croissants, etc). Last but not least, the service from Dormio was excellent... we forgot something at the house and they found it and sent it to us :)

Perfect stay in the basement of the Villa. The room itself was normally sized, but the bathroom was relatively large. Rooms are of good quality with a great bed. My room had small windows, which is logical in a basement room. Breakfast is served in a separate building. The real disadvantage is getting your key. This is far away from the Villa (Parkhotel). Luckily enough I didn't lock myself out during my stay......

The complex is located in the middle of farmlands on the edge of Valkenburg and has a lot to offer. For companies who wish to meet, for guests who want to explore the south of Limburg, or who want to enjoy the cosy town of Valkenburg, for guests who want to experience the atmosphere of times gone by, for Lovers who are going to mary or for people who organize a party. In short, something for everyone. The complex consists of the castle, the Carriage House, the outbuilding called "Tiendgebouw" and the Gatehouse. In the Carriage House are the cosy apartments and in the "tiendgebouw" the stylish hotel rooms, the Gatehouse has a brasserie and the Castle is a private house. Hospitality is our top priority, you will feel at home at Castle Schaloen.
We had a nice stay at the castle, enjoying the surroundings and the beautiful terrace. The rooms were however a bit old fashioned and could use some renovation, but the price was like a 5 star hotel. It's okay, I hope the owners will do their best to update the rooms and its furniture and bathroom some time in the near future.

Staying at this villa is simply superb. Good location, nice rooms but above all an outstanding service by the owner Ria. Great breakfast. Highly recommended for a stay in beautiful Limburg and surroundings.

Stayed here for a mid-week. Check-in went smooth but nothing special. Apartments are nothing special. Our outdoor deck hadn't been cleaned for some years. This meant that it was very slippery after a rain shower. Management seem less interested in guests, there are no efforts to get reviews neither by email or orally. We were also promised a dish washer, but did get dish washing liquid instead (yeah). The restaurant has pizza evening each Monday and Friday. It promises prices are from 6 euro. there not, they're from 8 euro! Otherwise a good enough place to stay nothing special, convenient located for cyclists and walkers alike.

Restaurant / brasserie with covered terrace. Near Maastricht, Valkenburg, Aachen and Liège. The 62 modern detached villas are equipped with every comfort and offer guests a lot of peace and quiet. The park consists of 62 luxury detached villas, partly with a view of the rolling landscape. Living room with sitting and dining area. Open kitchen with a combi microwave and dishwasher. Separate toilet, central heating and storage. Terrace with garden furniture and umbrella. Most bungalows are equipped with a whirlpool, private sauna, solarium, washing machine and dryer.
We stayed here for a week in August 2019. What a great place! This is part of a quiet Landal Parc with about 60 houses. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful, and gives great advice. The houses are situated such that it gives sufficient privacy. Inside, there is a large living room with a modern kitchen with all utensils required for cooking, although we used it only for breakfast. There are so many nice restaurants in this part of Limburg! This home had three spacious bedrooms. The bedroom downstairs has its own bathroom with shower. Upstairs, there is another bathroom with bath, shower and sauna.

We booked the site after coming across it as a good place to spend a wintery weekend with 2 active kids and we were not disappointed. The plot was excellent and the under floor heating’ nice shower, toilet and small kitchen with large fridge, a freezer and a dishwasher in our plot cabin. The indoor swimming pool was good with a slide that kept our kids entertained. We had a nice evening bowling and the boys loved the entertainment centre with parcours, trampolining and laser quest. Another plus was the facilities for dogs... a great area fenced off with agility and swimming to let dogs run wild and let off steam with each other. Our 1 year old lab loved it. Staff were professional and very friendly. We had a great stay and will return.
