Where to eat French food in Gasthuis: The Best Restaurants and Bars

A friend and I were searching for a bar whilst walking through the streets of Valkenburg. We immediately dismissed over crowded bars and those pumping out overloud Euro Pop, our search stopped however when we came across this gem. It looked like bars are meant to look like, lived in, with plenty of character and charm. If you looking for something to eat then try one of the many restaurants along the street. If you are looking for run of the mill lager then keep walking. If you are looking for a great night out and like your beer, then this place is for you. We were guided through our experience by Roel the bar manager, who recommended beers to try, something you wouldn't usually have experienced. The best of foreign ales from the Netherlands, USA, Spain and of course Estonia. If you love proper beer then this is the place for you. Hundred's of IPA's, craft beer with amazing tastes. I love Belgium beer and if you like that you will be well catered for but what the bar did best was promote the local produce. The customer service was tailor made for the individual, really making sure the drinker was enjoying their tipple to the max whilst being educated. Good music to, at a low level so you can actually have a conversation. My visit changed my outlook on beer, Dutch beer in particular.
