We stayed in Baron Frits for three days, due to wedding of my dutch friend. Everything in this place was fantastic. Food in restaurant on very high quality plus veeeeery good breakfasts, level of services, attitude of owners and their staff, great accommodation. We felt realy like at home because of great hospitality. I recommend to everyone to take a walk next to the river after breakfast. When I will visit Netherlands next time, Baron Frits is the only choice.

We visited at lunchtime to book a table for dinner. We were greeted like long-lost members of the family! They managed to squeeze us in at a table for two, ensuringwe would be content with a small table directly in front of thebar. We didn't mind that.We arrived to a full house, and there is no doubt why.Excellent food and friendly service. It's a small cosy restaurantwith a very small, open restaurant. How four people manage tocook and wash up in that area beats me! Some people might beput off by the distraction of it, but it was such a great,'buzzy'atmosphere we didn't mind at all.The food was delicious and VERY reasonably priced. If we visit this area again, this will be on the list.

The most cosy place in Roermond to enjoy a lovely dinner! Choose our Menu to Share if you like to be surprised by our chefs, or go for our Menu to Enjoy (3-course dinner) or Menu to Adore (4-course dinner) if you like to choose the dishes yourself. Rick,
Close to our hotel, and looking nice from the outside (and packed, which is mostly a good sign) so decided to go for it. If it's your first time here, the concept is confusing, because they don't explain anything. We saw a menu next to the door with starters and mains and when we walked in we did not see a single plate on any of the tables, just the small glasses with small bites. So we had to ask ourselves what the concept was. People are really genuinely friendly here (but some mistakes in the service though). The first 3 cold bites we had were absolutely delicious and then the 2 other were questionnable. The mains we ordered were not good (cod fish raw in the middle and dried out on the outside, lacking flavour, risotto little dry and lacking flavour; The choice of wine by the glass is extremely limited (1 red and 1 white) but the white we ordered was very nice. However, if you ask for a second glass, you don't come with a bottle to the table to refill. Never mix bottles in one glass! Also, we had to ask a few times for that second glass, as they kept forgetting (as did they with the desserts of our neighbours). We did not make any remark about the food, but they asked why we did not finish our dish and at that time we shared our comments and they offered coffee on the house, which we kindly declined, but appreciated the gesture.
