Rue du Bois is a small, intimate and very cosy restaurant in the middle of the old town in the city of Venlo. We offer high quality, classic French food for a very reasonable price. Jan, the owner, has been a professional buyer for the food industry for t
Brasserie Rue du Bois is a very nice surprise!! Good food, friendly staff/owners. The open kitchen can be a bit noisy sometimes but you can see the food being prepared (and it's clean!). Good atmosphere, friendly chef and help! The menu card is limited and different (you have to find out for yourself) but that's a plus because the food was just great. Makes me want to go back and taste something else.

Was flabbergasted by this restaurant. What a great view, atmosphere and interior. It is really something unexpected in this city. The food is very good. We had the 4 course menu and it's nice they offer different options for entree, main course and deserts. The quality is high, but not Michelin. Some dishes miss a taste surprise and are a little bit simple. Service is very good, the girls a bit shy. A good option for a special evening out.

Stayed there during a business trip. Location is pretty awesome very close to an artificial lake. Outdoor bar is perfect, especially in summertime, to have a beer or breakfast outside, facing the lake.Rooms are pretty roomy, and the furniture is very nice. There is also the possibility for having meal in the hotel...and I would certainly recommend to listen to the suggestion of the metre

Visited this restaurant after hearing so many great things about it and sampling their asparagus dish during the local 'Lekker Venlo' event (in which, for me, they came out nr. 1 during the opening business night). Before being offered the menu, we were surprised by several beautifully crafted amuses (see pics). The menu was a bit confusing (didn't state what were appetizers and what were mains), but the staff clarified it and complied with all changes we asked for. Plates were made up beautifully and we had a lovely evening. Will come back. Thank you for your review. We love to hear you had a great experience and that you will come back. We look forward to welcome you again.

the place is absolutely nice...especially during spring and summer, when tables on the nice outside place are palced and you can enjoy a lovely dinner outside.Food is very special...i would say delicious, especially prawns ad fish in general.Staff is very friendly and I would say also selection of wines is pretty adapt to the kind of food and the restaurant. The Chef is also the owner and the attention he uses to preprare every single meal is absolutely of a five star restaurant.Perfect location for a dinner with friends, with colleagues and with your beloved even thought not much privacy is guaranteed since the dimension of the placegreat

Nothing short of excellent. We went for a full dinner, cava on arrival on the terrace with amuse bouche's which were excellent. Starters showed a flair for quality ingredient selection and delicate, patient preparation.Mains were again superb, excellently sized so to enjoy the flavours without being stuffed.Dessert was well presented and a superb selection of flavours and tastes. Well selected cheeses on the board but nothing special here.Complimentary wine list with enough to keep anyone happy.Service was attentive and friendly without being uncomfortably stuffy - I don't care much for the napkin folding and chair pushing lark.Restaurant is well furnished and decorated, a definite absence of bling is welcome. Relaxed and comfortable.A most pleasant way to spend an evening. Far from cheap but this is something you won't do every week.

We visited this restaurant on a short weekend stay in Arcen and surrounding areas. This was the culinary highlight of our weekend. The restaurant has a young new enthusiastic owner who composed a great menu with well-balanced flavors. We had the Lobster menu and the day menu with wine pairing menu. We were very pleasantly surprised and would recommend this to anyone. Staff is also very friendly. Just a great place.

The restaurant Die Alde Heerlickheijt is located in the medieval vaulted cellars of the castle. Let the chef and his team take you on a culinary journey of discovery! Choose from the comprehensive menu which offers a wide range of specialities. The chef i
Dinner in a Chateau. Who doesn't want that experience. We had dinner at this hotel/restaurant. We choose the chef menu but decided to have three courses. After the amuse, which was nice, we had the sashimi of tuna. Nice but a little overwhelming with different tastes. After the sashimi we had the trio of beef. A carpaccio, a filet americain and a tartare. Very nice but the sizes were big. After the second course we had the livar (pork) and the cod. The cod was slicly overcooked and the livar dry. Having higher expectations in advance voor the level if the restaurant, we were slightly disappointed. The service was very friendly and always willing to explain the course or the wine.

This is a place that has long been associated with food. âKwartelâ is Dutch for quail so â as the name suggests â quails were traded here from the fourteenth century until after the Middle Ages. And in the first half of the nineteenth century a mill stood
Venlo has definetely more to give than just fries and shopping. This nice spot remains on my top list of visited restaurants ever. Service was extraordinary and the quality and taste of the foods served were outstanding. We had the surprising 4 courses, once vegetarian. All courses were top notch, well composed and introduced at the table. Reasonable prices made our visit perfect. Thank you, we will come again.
