La Plaza is a nice little lunch time spot for those in the Brunssum area. The restaurant is located a short walk into the city center area from the public parking lot. The staff is very friendly (and speak English) and will help you with menu selections - since the menus are in Dutch only. However, they do take great enjoyment from listening to tourists attempt to pronounce the dishes and will assist in pronunciations. My wife and I have eaten there several times and have yet to be disappointed - the salads are particularly good, as is the tomatensoep. If you're in need, they also have a small bar with wine, beer, and spirits to help you along with your day. So, if you're roaming the streets of Brunssum or just in the area and need a spot to eat, definitely try out La Plaza and you won't be disappointed.

I like this small dark little cafe with its funky floral decorations. I had the Chicken Pastijte (chicken rafu in puff pastry) its house made and the mushrooms offer an subtle earthiness that I like. Their seasonal soups are also quite nice. Service is friendly but hours are not so accommodating.

Quaint place with interesting decoration and. List of beers a mile long. The food menu is a wooden plank with only Dutch wording. My friend had the schinitzel and I had something unpronounceable which turned out to be a small terrine of beer stew with asparagus. Very good. Both came with a mountain of fries. We also had the "Starters" which was the only appetizer on the menu which consisted of toasted herb bread with two cheese spreads and a chutney. Good to order because the food is in no rush to get out to you. Great place to sample a few beers and linger over dinner. The restaurant only takes. Cash and debit cards. No credit cards.

This is a great 'frite stand'. Excellent selection. And he has a few of his own unique and special recipes'; delicious. And excellent fries. Service is great and all the guys 'n gals are very friendly. Need a quick and low cost lunch or dinner, or maybe just a nice snack? This is the place.

This was the first of three restaurants we ate out in in Brunssum. We fancied trying the Balkan specialities, and went for a shared mixed platter. The food was tasty, and the service OK. The salad bar was OK, but rather limited in selection. It was too cold to eat outside, but inside was rather gloomy and really the décor could do with freshening up and the over all place made lighter in colour and thus lighter in atmosphere. The toilets downstairs too need a makeover. We are well into the 21st century bit this felt like being stuck in the 1980s

Always a fun place and they spruced it up since our last visit in 2014. Seems brighter and more open.As always you start out with the requisite shot of ouzo to cleanse the palatte. The salad bar has all the basics to make a nice starter. The veggies were fresh, nice big chunks of feta and a good selection of oils to top it off.The chicken soup was okay, A bit thin but had nice big chunks of chicken. The side of bread was nothing special. The Thymeria platter, with chicken fillet, gyros, Greek sausage and ??? was enjoyed. I thought they did a wonderful job of the chicken fillet. Full of flavour and very tender. The souvlaki's were also nice and tender. The Greek sausage was okay and the shredded beef? was a bit dry. Good size portion of yummy frites.

Lovely outdoor seating area in a vibrant area of Brunssum with a range of eateries including ice cream parlour. Varied menu with something for everyone really. Service very slow for food and drinks. Food good but chicken on pizza too hard to eat easily, would be better with thin slices rather than chunks. Prices reasonable.Would definitely re-visit but would order a salad as that looked amazing!

We are visiting friends here & they've talked so often about The Canadian Corner!! So we told them one thing we certainly wanted to experience was a meal at The Canadian Corner!! It did not disappoint! Great good, friendly staff & reasonable prices. One of the lovely perks about going to dine at The Canadian Corner is the infectious personality of the proprietor, Donna. A lovely lady---most likely, she will welcome you. Try their "taco pizza!!" Oh my!!!! What a taste treat!! Go, enjoy!! You won't be sorry!! Thanks Annie, it was so nice meeting you both. Hope you have a great visit here and enjoy your stay.

Although the fresh interior was promising, the new menu is very different.I think they aim for a less traditional Greek menu, more Mezedes (Tapas-like) approach.I expect they will attract a different group of people with that. Not sure if that's us...Thanks for your review...We are trying to overcome the standart "Greek" kitchen that is presented in Europe, and bring in more and more traditional Greek food, what we serve as Meze, what is more commen in Greece than meat and fries...I hope we will welcome you back, and impress you with our new setup..Greetings
