Reviews on Dutch food in Maastricht, Limburg Province, The Netherlands. Touching Belgium on its west and just a few miles from Germany to the east, Maastricht is the capital of Holland’s southernmost region, Limburg. A town rich in history and culture, Maastricht boasts two wonderful town squares: Vrijthof, with Sint-Servaas Church, Sint-Jan's Cathedral and many bars, cafes and restaurants; and Markt, home to the town hall and, on Wednesday and Friday mornings, a fantastic vendor market. The city’s Vestigingswerken, or old town fortifications, are another big draw.

Feel welcomed as a friend at wine restaurant mes amis. Host Annaline, a passionate wine expert knows how to find the perfect one to accompany your dish. She loves the wines made in Limburg. Enjoy a private dinner with friends, family or colleagues? Be wel
it is always a blind adventure when you go for a surprise menu. Here you can choose between a 4-8 course surprise dinner by the chef. I went for the 4 course one.Since a very long time I didn't experience such a nice, tasty, surprisingly good and high quality dinner which I really enjoyed during the evening, accompanied by a set wine arrangement from Limburgian wines from the region. This was really superb, my sincere compliments for the chef. Relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. No question that I fully recommend this restaurant, don't forget to make a reservation!Thank you so much for this review! I have given your compliments to the chef! We would like to see you again next time!

Plus:- Friendly staff- Nice ambianceMinus:- We tried multiple times to have our different allergies being addressed which in the end was only possible by choosing the exact same courses. Highly inflexible for a Michelin star restaurant.- The bill listed many drinks of the neighboring table. Attention to corectness lacking (we assume it was not done on purpose).- Food generally quite nice for a restaurant of such calibre but nothing particular to brag about.Dear Mr Meyersson, Thank you for sharing your experience. We cannot believe this is happened in Restaurant Beluga Loves You. So could you please let us know when did you have dinner in our restaurant. Then we can discuss it with our team and will send you a reaction as soon as possible. Best regards, Team Beluga Loves You

Fortunately I was able to book a table for two during the famous Art Fair (TEFAF). During my reservation I have asked for a table at the window so we could enjoy the beautiful view on Maastricht. Although they couldnât guarantee this table I was lucky to get it. And what an astonishing view. It was a risk for Rantree to move from the centre of Maastricht to this place but it was worth it. Not only the view but also the interior. A modern and warm interior and plenty of space between tables. So you have enough privacy to spent an excellent evening. And although fully booked no noise, which is a great achievement. We ordered the 5 course diner. Not only the dishes were excellent but also the appetizers. Each one of them (I think we got 5 in total) tasted excellent. Compliments to the chef; not the standard stuff but beautifully shaped and presented appetizers. Especially the merengue appetizer was an explosion of flavours in our mouth. When you order a five course meal it is a 4 hour feast. The combination of the dishes is, combined with the appetizers, are well thought out and it doesnât feel like 4 hours. We had an culinary journey on a Michelin level (I have eaten at 2 Michelin restaurants that even didnât come close to Rantree). In fact we skipped the dessert because we were done (and are not that fond of desserts). The wine list contains of a small but sufficient selection of beautiful wines. As my partner isnât that fond of red wine we ordered a Pouilly Fumee. Very good price quality. Next time I will order the wine arrangement. The waiters are stylish and informal. A strange combination but it fits into this restaurant and probably they know how to judge the individual needs of their guests. The water and wine glasses were filled without having to ask. So no empty glasses. Is it all perfect? Almost. The bar has a beautiful view on Maastricht but has a little bit lack of atmosphere. It is a square room next to the restaurant but you will find only seats here. So actually not a bar. We were finally surprised again by a restaurant. It is not cheap but worth it. You will have a great culinary experience with great hospitality. So visit this restaurant when you are in Maastricht.Dear Alainl290In name of the whole team I may thank you for your nice and warm review. You've described very well what we're doing in our restaurant for our customers. It is therefor very nice to read how well our whole team did their very best to achieve all of your expectations and gave you a very unique experience. We sincerely hope to see you soon again.Kind RegardsTeam Rantrée

As the only terraced castle in The Netherlands, Château Neercanne commands panoramic views across the Jeker Valley and straddles two countries â Belgium and The Netherlands. Renowned for its Restaurant Château Neercanne and popular lunch spot lâAuberge, i
Outside of the city of Maastricht is this beautiful castle. In the evening you are welcomed by a lot of candles lining the pathways to the castle nestled close to the marl caves. After an aperitive in the wine cellars, which I donât think is optimal for the wines, we had a menu in the restaurant. Good service and original with a lot of attention for the âmise en placeâ. Salmon with nori, garlic, quinoa and sambai started with a Japanese touch. Grouper in a Mediterranean way and duck with ras-el-hanout both followed before a chocolate delicacy completed the meal.Dear Maurits, Yes you can have a Conference meeting in a lot of unique locations but a ten minutes drive to our location and into another world is a chance you will find only in Maastricht. Een unieke combinatie van dining, drinking & sharing in een moderne inrichting en sfeervolle ambiance. Daar waar de traditionele franse keuken gecombineerd wordt met mediteranne finesse en hippe aziatische invloeden.
Nice restaurant and very friendly staff, situated in the trendy area across the bridge (Wyck). Nice and original formula, with many appetizers and dishes to share. We appreciated the shrimp croquettes and the duck springrolls. As a starter, we opted for the crispy goatcheese, which was a delight. Mains were lemon sole and oriental gambas. Nice winelist with a beautiful offer of wines by the glass. We'll be back. Thanks for your visit and nice review. We hope to seen you soon. Wilbert, Gigi and team JEF

OAK wood is known to be strong and tough and yet it is easily editable. This is what we want to imitate with our interior and presentation. The interior consists out of wood, stone and steel, and the presentation of our dishes, cocktails and special beers
Found this restaurant by chance after coming to Maastricht for the past four years! Definitely wish we'd found it sooner! Wonderful atmosphere and super friendly staff (who kindly spoke very good English)!Today they launched a new special- pineapple chicken with cous cous and a curried sauce! Words can't describe how yummy it was...great idea from the awesome chef! Will definitely be coming back!

"A light and cozy bistro serving gourmet, creative dishes that will surprise and inspire you. That's what I, Roland Philipsen, as an entrepreneur and chef have in mind"
Croquant is a cute small restaurant in a very quaint quarter of Maasticht; my partner and I had dinner at Croquant last weekend....this is a difficult review to write since although we enjoyed ourselves and like the concept of Croquant, the food was nothing more than OK, we were still hungry when we finished our meal, and thought that it was expensive. The specialty croquets and bitter balls were good (not extraordinary) and interesting in variety....shame that we could not find a mussel in the special of day mussel croquet. Our "main courses" were small plates (as correctly pointed out by our server) that were unsatisfying: my partner had the steak tartar which was good but the portion size was painfully small and my risotto was very average; thank goodness we ordered a portion of fries or we would have been starving. The deserts were nothing special. That being said, we had fun....the service was very nice (if a bit disorganized) and the atmosphere very pleasant. Will we return? Probably not - we have done it and need not return. The biggest problem is that we left hungry and ate nothing more than upgraded "frituur" food for over Euro. 100.00 for the two of us.

Daily changing menu from chef Roel Sanders. Great food in a friendly and casual atmosphere. We are ready for you, Roel, Alison en Martijn team55 (fifty five)
It was our 34th wedding anniversary so wanted to go somewhere special. Restaurant 55 was just the place to go with Michelin endorsement. The chef was very enthusiastic and passionate about describing our dishes starting with an âamuseâ consisting of Shrimp foam in shells, soup in test tubes and stinging nettle bread! Then some frozen Gespachio that exploded in our mouths. All set the scene perfectly. Then a Mackerel dish and paprika followed by braised Beef with truffle, duck then summer fruits Yoghurt and ice-cream. Service throughout was personal. A perfect experience. Well done.
This is a nice and cozy place with very friendly staff and service. There is a beautiful long table, which supports conversation. We had bread with smoked salmon and monkey pancakes which was both pretty tasty. There is a "all day breakfast" offer. We were there with our < 1 year child and could use a high chair. There was also enough space for our buggy.Danke sehr!
