Reviews on Dutch food in Epen, Limburg Province, The Netherlands. The tiny Dutch town of Epen lies in the south part of the Limburg province. A stop along the way of the famed Mergellandroute, Epen is a lovely oasis for tired cyclers and drivers. Gently rolling hills, fruit trees and half-timbered houses create a romantic atmosphere, as do the majestic mansions and castles of the area.

Lunch at Proeff, we choose the Toasties which were very tasty. Small lunch menu but choice is different from the usual local cafes and restaurants. Friendly, quick & efficient service. We will be back to try dinner menu.

This place is temporarily closed. It reopens on March 13th, 2019.
Was here with wife and two small kids. Lunch food was typical Dutch sandwiches but still with a local touch. Super friendly staff. Nice old place that looked like a kitsch museum but with also with nice outside terraces. Kids loved it. Quality vs price is a very good place!

We're having a break which was intentional because we saw variety of fruits. Plus the tempting ice cream best for a bit warm day. We had our nice time and a restful break for a few minutes. We stayed somewhere viewing the open field and the river.

A nice, cosy restaurant in rural atmosphere. Friendly people and unexpected good food. The steak I ordered as medium rare WAS medium rare. Good vegetables nd nice sauce with it. My partner had the fish stew which was very tasty. The sorbet ice as desert was exactly as it should be. Fair prices. The botte of wine was not expensive but beyond expectation.

For us always a place to come back, sometimes just to drink something and enjoy the view sometimes for diner or lunch. The food is typically "Limburgs" with an international touch. The food is great and the staff friendly. A nice place to start & end your walkings in the forrest.

After we settled our things, We went out for a stroll in this beautiful region, where the valley was welcoming and the summer breeze was softly touching the face. A very nice walk with not much cars no traffic and so peaceful. Then we reached this restaurant for our dinner before going back to our hotel. That was our early dinner intending to have an early restful sleep after the trip. The choice of food suggested by my husband was really good and we enjoyed it very much.

A visit to the Atelier is always again a surprising journey along tastefully presented dishes with inventive combinations of first class products, accompanied by a fine variety of wines or non-alcoholic fruitjuicessappen. A warm competent service supports you through this wonderful experience. Five stars are usually only reserved for the perfect experience and this was one of those !

Nice restaurant in old converted farmhouse building. Interior was nicely left in the period state with accompanied nick knacks etc. Food was good and they had options to eat local produce. Would not mind going back if in the area again.

Though not quite your intimate setting, the restaurant offers good quality and we were not hurried up by the staff. A very enjoyable place for dinner, if weather permist on their terrace which offers a splendid view. Suggestion, in case you like white wine: take the Gerardushoeve house wine (Johanniter), it's fairly good!!

The restaurant located in an old missionary serves a small menu with easy going meals and easy going service. Very cheap and in accordance with the meal. Not too fancy, but good to go. We had the local special "Zuur vlees" which was alright. The restaurant closes at 8 PM!!! So be in time.
