La Peña is een typische spaans restaurant waarvan de recepten generatie op generatie zijn doorgegeven. Wij serveren Authentieke Spaanse tapas & Paella's op grootmoeders wijze. We proberen op deze manier een beetje Spanje naar de vennestraat te brengen.

We were quite excited about having lunch in this restaurant because the FB photos looked really amazing.We arrived to the restaurant which was quite empty and ordered some food... but the dishes we ordered didn't please much our expectations-huevos rotos, the yoke of the eggs were completely cooked (the jokes are normally used as a sauce for this dish) so they were just some chips with eggs and ham basically..-patatas bravas, which were chips with pisto sauce on top and overly spicy, nothing related to bravas sauce...-gambas al ajillo, the prawns themselves had no taste at all, seemed like they just came out the freezer-croquetas de bacalao, they were tasty but pretty sure they were bag frozen croquetesI was a bit disappointed becase we drive 40 minutes, just to go to this restaurant for tasting some "real spanish food" but I don't think the food there has much to do with the original Spanish recipes...

We had dinner for two in this restaurant and it has been a very good experience! The lady of the house was friendly, charming and professional and made us feel very comfortable. In my eyes, she's the perfect host, really really nice. The food was also good and the setting in the restaurant was cosy as well. The only minus of the restaurant might be finding a parking spot nearby. Definitively a recommended place to go, even though it's a bit more pricy.
