Went here with my wife. We both had the 'lange wandeling' menu, including the wines. We also spent the night in the Roosbeek hotel/B&B and went to the spa (see seperate review for that). My positives and negatives:+ Food is good; honest, seasonal, well-prepared, especially for the price paid (53 euro for full menu of 6 courses, excluding wines). So in that way I disagree with other reviewer Peter G.+ Staff is really friendly+ The atmosphere of the 'waiting room' (the area where you have a drink before going to you tabel for having dinner) is really cosy.+/- I personally feel the atmosphere in the dining room was -in contrast- not too cosy. The room is quite loud and the combination of ceiling/flooring, lighting and tables for me didn't work. My wife however disagrees with me :)+/- We had an issue where my wife had pieces of plastic in her sorbet. This was well-handled by the staff.

Nice restaurant, good food at at decent price, close to the other, better quoted ones
The food that was served was certainly correct but not exceptional. Price quality wise certainly OK. The suggested wines were good to very good. Probably worth another visit maybe for diner, I do have the impression that they can do better than what they did for this weekend lunch.

Staying in the small village of Montenaken while watching the Spa grand prix. We asked the owner of our apartment where to go for a meal. He recommended Sint Truiden. 15 min drive we arrived to find a busy square full of restaurants and bars. Were people were enjoying the evening. We walked around and came across La Tasse. Looked nice and sat at a table. Being from England we were a little worried about getting served and ordering food. The waiter/owner soon put us at rest explaining his brother lives in Brighten and had a bit of banter witg us.My sister and myself went for spaghetti balognase with a side order of frites. My nephew ordered burger and chips. After a round of drinks the food soon arrived. Our spaghetti balognase was delicious, actually quite spicy. My nephew soon polished of the burger and chips and after another round of drinks we were full to the brim. Bill was very good aswell. So you can see why all the bars and restaurants were full. Maybe we can take a leave from Belguim's book. Also we noticed that people were actually talking to each other. Not like on in England where most couples or groups are silent with their heads buried in their phones or tablets. If we return for next year's Grand prix we will definetly return to La Tasse for more Spag bowl and frites.Thank you and goodbye to you

Soup & lunch bar at the center of Sint-Truiden. At noon, you can enjoy various soups, bagels, wraps or others. Our menu changes weekly. Of course, stopping by for a coffee or a glass of wine is also possible.
Brilliant concept : three types of soups ( daily changing ) and three types of spreads for bagel/ bread or wrap and a choice of salads. Also vegetarians won't go away hungry.Decent sizes and price is cheap to average. Also take-away.Above all super friendly staff. Kudos to them. Also a pro : toilets are userfriendly for the physical less able. A plus in St-Truiden where alot of cafes are very unpractical for the physical less able.Spoon at Noon is in their pricerange the best St-Truiden has to offer.I will return. Thanks for your delicious comment. We hope the food and the experience tasted/felt the exact same

They present themselves as a food cafe: however, this is below reality and far too modest. In this old historic farmhouse we enjoyed a well-served 4 course menu with custom beers from the very rich beer list. Very friendly service, tasty and well-presented dishes with a wide variety of flavors. Marinated salmon, pulled duck confit and slow cooked chicken. A cozy dining room and a nice summer-evening terrace. Recommend restaurant.

Friendly service. We ordered the Tomahawk and asked for a matching wine. The proposed bottle was excellent - just like the meat. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back again.Thank you !! Grtz

White/blue cote a los, entrecote, steak, dry aged cote a los, limousin, aubrac, Aberdeen angus and Many more meat specialities
Tiny little restaurant close to the central market place in Sint-Truiden where meat is king. Friendly service and proper no-frills cooking. Mise-en-bouche was offered (small classic style brocoli cream soup based on home-made stock). Excellent quality meat - would be hard to find better quality. We had the 400 grams Belgian 'white/blue' steak which was superbly cooked and seasoned - was so tender and tasteful one could have even enjoyed just the steak without fries and home-made Bearnaise sauce! Expensive but highly recommended. Limited but more than sufficient wine list.

We had a wonderful lunch at l'Angelo Rosso. We went for the degustation menu (7course) with paired wines. Absolutely delicious. Very fine, small portions, art on a plate, but still felt very full at the end. All were really good, nicely presented. Wines were also great and they served enough. Staff was very friendly, thoughtful and professional. Also a very nice interior, liked how they renovated it. Will also go back on a sunny day as I think it must be nice to sit in the garden too. Highly recommended.

Business dinner for 10. Service was warm, professional, exceptional considering the many business dinners we have had in all of Europe. We were served the same hors'devours(sp), entree and main course and each of us had the same review - "excellent". Definitely one of the best in my experience.
