Lima, founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535, is a fascinating city and a treasure trove of history. Explore ancient Incan archeological sites, or stroll through the elegant cathedrals and opulent palaces dating from Spanish colonial times. Downtown Lima is crowded, but you'll enjoy exploring the city's neighborhoods—especially the beachfront areas, which have great shopping and dining and fabulous hotels.

We went for lunch to La Mar, keep in mind that they don’t accept bookings so you have to allow around 1 hour for the waiting period. That’s ok as we knew this was the case. The waiting area is small and to be honest the service there was pretty bad as they said we could oder drinks straight away. It took around 25 min for us to be able to order drinks and to get the waiter attention. Once we got our table the service improved a lot but the first impression was of an unorganised place.
Food was really tasty but not amazing. We ordered the share platter and it was big! the waiter said it was for two or three ppl but we were 4 and it was enough + 3 other small dishes. We also had the Navajas, really god, anticuchos octopus super tasty and a arroz chaufa which I thought it was amazing! Overall really tasty, a bit unorganised but with good service.

The Museo Larco Café/Restaurant, offers an enchanting ambiance where one can savour the best of Peruvian and International cuisine, including hot dishes, salads, sandwiches, pastries and desserts, as well as hot and cold drinks, Pisco Sour, wines, and beers. All of the food is prepared using the freshest of ingredients that are bought daily. The restaurant is situated on the Museum’s terraces overlooking its vibrant and captivating Gardens.
I stopped for lunch with my friend at the end of our visit to the museum. It was in a very nice setting off the lower Gardens with inside and outside Seating. The service was good and the cuisine excellent. I highly recommend lunch here.Dear Twa5472, We appreciate your time in writing a review in TripAdvisor. Had lunch at Maido on my last day in Lima, after my hotel tried twice unsuccessfully to get Reservations on earlier days. The experience there was very much worth the wait and perseverance, as the flavors and execution are top-notch, making for a gastronomic experience that is not easily forgotten.
Maido is a true fusion restaurant, bringing together Japanese and Peruvian cuisine in a most creative fashion. The menu contains small dishes, nigiri, main dishes and more. Wanting to make the most of my opportunity to enjoy the food, I went for seven smaller dishes, spending close to two hours enjoying them all. The nigiri I tried were classical unagi, toro with mustard sauce, salmon with chili sauce and tuna with egg yolk. The nigiri were all excellent, but the unagi and the toro went beyond that and were truly exceptional. I tried the gyoza that were served under a light pancake with classical dipping sauce and found it very flavorful and fun. I tried a tamalinos dish with langoustines, squid and just an amazing broth to tie it together. The final item I had was a "meatball" with shredded beef, sake, spices and more, served in a light potato cheese mousse. The flavors in that dish were just out of this world.
The atmosphere is fun and the service is excellent. I sat at the bar and that had no negative effect on the waiter taking care of me, as he provided prompt, attentive and very friendly service. Sitting at the bar also offered me the opportunity to talk to the chefs and staff preparing the food there, which was also highly enjoyable.
To summarize, eating at Maido is an experience not to be missed and never to be forgotten. Flavors, execution, service and everything is just fantastic.

The best Mediterranean and Peruvian fusion cuisine in Lima. At La Locanda, guests enjoy classic elegance in an exclusive environment with a beautiful view of the garden. With warm service, each detail has been meticulously attended to for an unforgettable experience. La Locanda also offers a great selection of desserts and the finest wines and liquors. This is the perfect place for a business lunch, a romantic dinner or just a fun evening with friends.
Our group of six had Reservations at La Locanda for a 7PM dinner. We were the only diners initially, so Limenos must eat later. The dining area is lovely, and at least for the first hour or so, the wait staff was very attentive. The...MoreDear client. An authetic Italian vibe makes Rigoletto a gathering place for locals and hip visitors. The menu is traditional Tuscan with varied daily special and samplinig of regional dishes, excellent food, great service and great atmosphere.
Had early dinner at Rigoletto and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience.
Rigoletto is first and foremost an upscale classic Italian restaurant but it does offer some Peruvian flavors as well. The menu is not too large, but very well thought out, making it easier said than done to choose. I ended up having the marinated grilled octopus for appetizer and then the crabmeat ravioli for main dish. The octopus was just out of this world, flavorfully marinated and perfectly cooked. The ravioli was good but not nearly at the same level - could have used a bit more punch, either in the filling or the sauce.
Sat outside in the small yard and enjoyed the fresh air - the street is very quiet so there was no issue with noise or fumes. Nice ambiance.
Service was very good.

Had dinner at Maras with a group of colleagues while staying at the Westin hotel. We all really enjoyed the high-quality inventive food served there, the nice surroundings and the very good service.
Maras is a modern cuisine restaurant that works with Peruvian ingredients to create very interesting combinations of flavors. The dishes and flavors are very inventive and many of the items utilize quite unusual techniques. I went with a tuna sashimi for appetizer, skirt steak for main dish and suspiro brulee for dessert. The dishes were just fantastic, inventive and flavorful. One of the more inventive elements was olive oil frozen into a grainy gravel that was served with the tuna sashimi. The suspiro brulee was also exceptionally inventive and good.
Service was very professional throughout. Our server took great care of the table and the sommelier was helpful when it came to wine selection. The surroundings and decorations are elegant and tasteful.
Overall a great experience I would be happy to repeat.

First time visitor, was impressed with everything. We shared paiche, duck with rice and suckling pig. All dishes were tasty and fresh. Suckling pig was best I have had. Tres leches dessert was delicate and moist. Service was friendly and professional. Not cheap but high standard. Will definitely return.

Our restaurant and bar offers a creative, dynamic and constantly evolving cuisine, inspired by the great national pantry. All this in the best atmosphere and with a grateful attention, giving the best gastronomic experience all the time. We provides you the opportunity to taste the acclaimed Peruvian national cocktail: Pisco Sour. After a delicious meal, unwind with a refreshing beverage at the bar, which opens onto a Terrace at street level, filling the space with natural light and creating a pleasant alfresco atmosphere. The restaurant offers a new concept of four integrated atmospheres, including the dining area, Terrace area, bar area, and private dining area.
I had an amazing ceviche and hubby loved his meal, a rice based dish. We enjoyed delicious piscos. This restaurant is very pretty, the service is great, the dishes are presented very well. It’s a great treat for a night out.
