Had coffee and a blueberry muffin several times while in Lewisburg. Nice to find a local coffee bar, but I wish they'd offer more types of pastries. The blueberry muffins are excellent -- crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside -- but muffs aren't everybody's favorite.

We were visiting historic downtown Lewisburg this afternoon and it had gotten quite warm, so we wanted some ice cream. We had see this place earlier when driving around, so walked to it. They serve hand dipped Hershey ice cream and even had a sugar free flavor for diabetic me. It was a pleasant refreshing stop and the ice cream was real good. the employee that served us was very nice and efficient. We would stop here again if in downtown and wanted some ice cream.

The French Goat

The French Goat is a quaint French bistro located in the historical district of beautiful Lewisburg, WV. Our menu is traditional French with touches of both classic and new cooking techniques. The decor is smart, relaxed, yet elegant. Our wine list favors French wines but we also have wines from California as well. Craft cocktails are a favorite here at TFG, and you can always find your traditional favorite or be adventurous and try one of the bartenders seasonal selections. The beautiful garden is a wonderful place to have a glass of wine and features a 10 foot high fountain to add atmosphere to your cocktails or dining.

While we had decent food there (see separate reviews), we had heard glowing reviews of The French Goat, so made a reservation to try it out. It was a cold, snowy...MoreThank you so much for the lovely review. We strive to make each guest feel welcome and to cook them a great meal. We hope to see you again in the future. All the best!

Cozy spot where innovative fare such as the bourbon salmon salad & crab dip draws a bustling crowd.

Had a VERY enjoyable dinner which consisted of blackened swordfish and roasted pepper Gouda cheese soup. This was the best blackened swordfish I've ever had and the soup was superb! Unique bread comes baked in a terracotta planter and was quite delicious. Our server Lisa made the night. She had a great sense of humor and provided impeccable service. It was so cold outside but inside was warm and comfortable. Can't wait to go again. This restaurant deserves the high marks it receives.

We have stopped at several Sweet Frog locations in different areas, and this is as good as it gets. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, a great selection of flavors (including two sugar free) and a very large selection of toppings. The employee that waited on me was friendly and efficient. I would stop here again if in the area.

Stardust Cafe

"My favorite restaurant ever! anywhere!" heard daily...music to our ears. We take the extra effort to get local vegetables, eggs and meat as well as flowers; to serve sashimi grade tuna, a rustic pork shank, lobster pasta; fresh daily pastries from West Virginia's best baker; locally made artisan bread; extra virgin olive oil, great wine list, candlelight etc! all pays off. We don't cut corners and our fellow foodies recognize this and honor us with their presence. Reservations advised or willingness to wait in line.

We loved this place for Lunch. Had an upbeat vibe and was nicely decorated and locally owned but it was expensive . my husband and I shared and my son was with us. We had water and each had dessert. It was almost $70.
We ate here because the place we actually came to eat at was closed (see other review) the service was slow, but they only had one cook-- this is a smaller place - I didn't mind gave us time to conversate and it was a nice environment to do so
We had the Italian sub and pasta salad and my son has the BLT and tomato soup. It was all very good. I do not normally eat balsamic vinegar, but it came on the sandwich. It was very good. I asked to buy a bottle but that's not allowed. The tomatoes were very ripe and tasted amazing with the balsamic vinegar. We ordered a slice of pumpkin cake and it was so good. None of us are pumpkin fans but this was delicious!
Was very disappointed to find out from another local They do not make in house.
Nonetheless it was delicious
Drinks are not free refill
We always eat local when we travel and this other than the price did not disappoint

The Livery

First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.

We visited here for Valentine's Day dinner. On street parking. Casual - dressy atmosphere. Excellent service.

We split a Caesar salad, which was tasty and was not drowned in dressing. Because it was also Ash Wednesday, we stuck to a seafood theme. I had the salmon entree, while my wife had two small plates, the lobster risotto and the ahi tuna. Lots of sharing. Salmon was well cooked and not dry at all. Ahi tuna was flavorful, and the lobster risotto came with an excellent cream sauce. For' dessert we were offered the choice of selecting three small plates. We had the blood orange sorbet, the goat cheese ice cream, and fruit tarts. All were excellent.

All in all, an excellent meal, and we left wondering why we hadn't returned sooner.

We serve contemporary Southern cuisine, in a farm to table format. We believe that excellent food should taste excellent.

You don't know special until you eat here. The dining room is small and intimate. Every time we have eaten here we have never been disappointed. If you like farm to table restaurants you will love it here. There is something special about breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can even ask and they will set up tables for you on the front porch.

This inn and restaurant is as quaint as the town

Also, they cater weddings and other events. The property would be excellent for any special occasion.

The facility has a state of the art sound system complete with a stage perfect for our live shows.

Went here on our way home from vacationing. Found it randomly while passing through. So glad we did! Cute little place. I liked the style of it, long cabin like. Watch out, we missed the sign and passed it! They had fire grilled pizzas as their specialty. We ordered a pesto pizza which was awesome! We also had wings and breadsticks ( Altho I would consider it cheese bread) and they were great! Reasonably priced too! You order at cash register and get your own plates and go back when you need a refill which was fine. Overall great pizza place!
