Primarily an Italian restaurant , but with a wide ranging menu including pizzas, pastas, steaks, chicken, fish and daily specials. We are family friendly. We also cater for special diets , allergies and have a wide 'gluten free' range.
When visiting family in Leek was advised to visit here for a meal. Was very pleased with the recommendation as food was delicious. Everything was top notch. The primo piano fillet steak was one of the best I had eaten.
Would def visit here again next time in Leek.

Multi Award winning Restaurant - Voted Top 10 in the UK, best in West Midlands, best in Staffordshire, voted for by the public, voted for by celebrities, MP's and diplomats and also by other chefs within the industry as being one of the finest establishments in the country.Qarma is a restaurant situated in an old mill. It is hidden from general view - the advantage being it is the only restaurant in Leek with it'sown car parking.Inside - we have Seating capacity for 170 people. We have a lounge area that seats approximately 40people for you to peruse the menu before odering or relax with a cup of chai after your meal.We also cater for people with physical disabilities - not like others!
After recently coming under new management, Qarma hasn’t been given the chance that it truly deserves. A lot of people are forgetting it’s here, and just not giving the new Management a chance! This is the second time visiting this restaurant within the past week, and both times we have been pleasantly surprised with how amazing the food, atmosphere and service has been!
As a large family, we always struggle to find a place that everybody enjoys, but Qarma really does cater for everybody - with vegetarian options available and ‘Slimming World’ options, too. Not only this, but the new Chef is absoloutely incredible! They have added new recipes, just one example is the Masala sauce, which tastes amazing and so full of flavour! I really could not fault one thing I have tasted at Qarma.
We all ordered different things both times, and we were all really impressed by what we had eaten! The dishes were cooked to perfection and again, just full of flavour. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and did so much to make us feel welcome, even offering vegetarian samples and samples from the Tapas Menu as well! The food arrived promptly and service was great all evening.
We were all very happy with the service and the food and are returning again for a third time very soon :) Thank you Qarma!

Called in to this restaurant and had the (very reasonably prices @£15.99 pp) set meal for two. The food was outstanding - fresh and not the usual Thai set meal fare. Lovely service as well. If we lived in Leek, we would go back every week !

After stepping inside to a warm pub we were instantly welcomed with smiling faces and shown to our table. The service was quick, and the waitresses were very helpful in answering all of our questions. I asked if they could turn the Mushroom starter vegetarian by removing the bacon bits to which they agreed, and when it arrived it was everything that I hoped it would be. For the main I had the gnocchi bake which was beautiful, and the chef went out of their way to make garlic mayonnaise fresh when I asked if they had any available. There are 5 or so dishes that are suitable for veggies, and even better; they all sounded yummy. The rest of the table had steaks which they thoroughly enjoyed!
Prices and very reasonable for the quality of food, and I would recommend this restaurant to vegetarians.

Englands Best Chef Voted by English Curry Awards 2017 West Midlands Best Restaurant 2013,2014 and 2015- English Curry Awards
Why this place has won awards I reall y don’t understand.
The chuckney tray was bland and I suspect that the mango chuckney and the lime pickle were out of a bottle. The mint was a big lump in the middle as they had not even stirred it. Again very bland.
I had chicken pakora. The batter was really thick, and the chicken was like rubber.
My partner had the Pabna special which he said was okay but nothing special.
My main was a lamb dish and lemon rice. It was flavourless and conjeeled . It was supposed to be medium strength, it had no spice whatsoever. The rice had been fried to an inch of its life it was greesy and I’m really not sure it was lemon rice as it was really dark in colour and didn’t taste of anything but fat.
My partner asked for a duck balti but they have stopped doing it so he ordered a tandoori mixed grill. Everything just tasted the same as there was no flavour.
He’s a Yorkshire man with a big appetite and he left everything.
I had a mojito . I’m sure it was a pre mixed one and was very warm.
We paid and left, needless to say we won’t return .
If this is the best leek has to offer we won’t be going to any others.

The meals are lovely, portion sizes perfect and service excellent, not a lot more to say. My wife had fishcakes, I had breaded cod, both really nice. The other 2 meals were equally as good. Sticky toffee puddings were good, the mint aero cheesecake could...MoreWe are very glad that you enjoyed your experience at The White Lion. Popped in for a coffee today. Spout is located on the cross roads as you come into Leek from the Newcastle road.
It's got an old world, boho run down feel about it. Little rooms, so it doesn't feel too busy.
A good range of hot and cold drinks and food. Lovely and fresh.
Parking on the main road or a car park on High Street, a short walk away. Might be an issue for those with mobility difficulties as a walk away from car park and a step to go up to access.
Ordered at the bar and served at table by Jason. Made welcome.
The granola cookie was lovely and daughter had a vegan brownie, she was extra happy because she was ok given an extra half portion because it broke.
Child and dog friendly. Rear garden too.
Its nice.

A wonderful pub high up on the Staffordshire Moorlands near Leek. Named after a rock formation in the nearby Roaches, the Winking Man hosts excellent entertainment nights usually in the well-appointed function room adjacent to the pub. I have spent a couple of Saturday nights at the Winking Man this year before attending for an 80's night on Saturday 7th October 2017 which included a disco and a performance by the excellent synth-pop tribute band, Electro80's which featured an android!
I found the staff helpful and friendly and the drinks plentiful and well priced. Locals friendly as well. Well worth checking out if you are on the road between Buxton and Leek and do enquire about their event nights. Friday nights are rock nights.
