I ,together with fellow residents of a Retirement Complex in Leeds, regularly partake of lunch. The surroundings are pleasant, the food is first class and the service friendly and very efficient. We request two joints on the carvery which usually happens. This time it was ham and beef both of which were cooked to perfection. What provides the icing on the cake is that at £17.50 for a three course meal, including tea or coffee, it is excellent value for money.

We hadn't been in since it had closed down 2 years ago, but a friend suggested holding a meeting here, and it was great! The hot, home-baked bread was a pleasant surprise and delicious. I had the chicken burger, and it was very tasty. The decor is really pretty, and the new owners are lovely. They even generously donated a raffle prize for our charity dog show. We'll be coming back again with our dog!

A pub for more than 400 years, The Swan and Talbot in Wetherby was once a posting inn on the Great North Road. Originally named the Dog and Swan, the pub was, until 1611, allowed to bear the coat of arms of the Swann family who lived at Askham Manor in ne
Enjoyed a freshly prepared meal last Wednesday before heading off to watch Downton Abbey "the movie". Well, we both enjoyed what we ordered, Fish & Chips for me and Steak pie and chips for my wife. Good size portions but not over phasing. All the staff seemed to be happy in their work and the refurb is nicely done.Didn't take too long before the restaurant was 3/4's full. Not bad for a Wednesday I'd say.We will definitely return , hopefully make this our local eating out and drinking pub within Wetherby. Looking forward to what's programmed for the rest of the year, Quiz nights, music nights, Christmas and New year celebrations.Good luck and hope this venture is successful

Stopped for an early evening meal on our journey home from Durham. The welcome and service was very good and very friendly. We ordered the Ham & Eggs and the Red Lion special burger. The ham was thin but tasty, accompanied with two eggs and well cooked chips. The burger was enormous, with onion rings, two decent sized burgers in a sesame bun with bacon and cheese and salad, with chips. It was very filling. However, it was let down by the use of frozen onion rings which are tasteless and 'plastic' square cheese slices semi melted in the burger. Surely, it so easy to grate some strong cheddar and sprinkle it on top of the burger? Much tastier than the cheese slices.

The Windmill Inn is situated in the heart of Linton, a five minute drive from the market town of Wetherby. We are a quintessentially British pub, with original wooden beams and charming stone floors. During the cold winter months, the log fires roar away,
We were lucky to pick a boiling hot day to have lunch here, We sat outside and never actually went inside the restaurant! We chose a variety of food - Steak lunch with the trimmings, ciabatta sandwich, vegetable pie and crispy beef - and each dish was delicious. There were girls outside making sure we had everything we needed, and serving quickly and effortlessly. The surroundings are beautiful - lush green gardens with plenty of seating - and thankfully, umbrellas (for shade!)Plenty of car parking space too.Set in a beautiful village, it's very highly recommended. Go on give it a try!

We as a family and friends were celebrating a 65th birthday which was a surprise birthday dinner for my Wife, from the moment I made my reservation over the phone nothing was to much trouble for the staff, whilst we stayed in Wetherby the short trip out to Walton was well worth it, though we were surprised by there being 3 speed cameras on the short trip, the choice of food and service by the staff was excellent as has been mentioned by previous reviewers as we all agreed, all in all it was an excellent venue and event and. A big thank you we will remember the evening for a long time,
