We visited yesterday for lunch because the menu looked really interesting. Nothing disappointed, except that the pudding we wanted was sold out! The ladies waiting on tables were welcoming, friendly and helpful. With a view of the marina, we ate sardines and snails for starters and mains of dorade on risotto ( delicious), and grilled pork, also highly recommended by other half, all cooked to order. Two glasses of lovely rose, and water, all for 38 euros! A restaurant that really needs to be tried, highly recommended. We will definitely be back next time we are here.

If you come for a concert or a show in Le Forum take the opportunity to eat dinner in Restaurant Le 126.They have every day a menu where you can choose between 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts. 2 dishes for 18 eur and 3 for 22 eur. This night (wednesday) we were around 20 guests in the restaurant - many of them, including us, should see the opera "Othello" in Le Forum. We had delicious food, fresh, well prepared, tasty and eye catching as well. Service made by the 2 owners - perfect and nice!

Afin qu'à aucun moment il ne soit fait d'amalgame,le restaurant "LA PERGOLADE" précise qu'il n'est pas en charge de toutes les questions se rapportant à la pêche; horaires, tarifs, poissons. La Direction
Just returned from our second visit to this lovely restaurant. The first was in June and was equally good. The service and setting are excellent. We had live music which was of a good standard and the food was excellent. I had the buffalo mozzarella which was about the best I have ever had. The fish was delicious and the cheese was outstanding. The lady in charge was charming and whilst she spoke excellent English was patient and kind enough to suffer our excruciating attempts at French all night. Highly recommended.

There is always a warm welcome from Frederique (Front of House) and her husband Sebastian (Chef). The menus is varied, imaginative and reasonable as is the wine. Products are carefully sourced, prepared and served with enthusiasm and love. This is the culinary Dynamic Duo.

We called in on a Thursday evening hoping to book a table for Friday but unfortunately Friday was fully booked. Not wishing to miss L'Amandier we chose to have dinner ther that night instead. The only table left was in the narrow front of the restaurant which was fine but we would try for a table in the main part if visiting again. The service was a little cool to start but by the end of our meal much more friendly. We both ate from the less expensive of the 2 set menus offered and the food was good but not great. There is a good choice of restaurants in Frejus, although with limited opening hours off season, but do try L'Amandier if you can.

This charming restaurant owned by brothers Sebastian and Christophe is right off the main square where the cathedral and museum are located, on a little side street with its own pleasant square.First, Chris brought us a complimentary tapenade appetizer, followed by our order of the "petits farcis provençaux," a delicious ground meat served on vegetable rounds (red pepper, cucumber, tomato, etc.). My husband had the leg of lamb and I had pork with curry sauce and coconut milk for our main courses. Everything was well-prepared, attractively presented, and just absolutely delicious! We took a leap and shared an order of "marquise au chocolat" for dessert (a chocolate risk is usually worthwhile for me!). Slabs of dark chocolate with chantilly were served on a creamy sauce that I can't name--but I don't regret the choice! While I enjoyed all the restaurants we tried on the main square, this was my absolute favorite and I will definitely return when I'm in Fréjus again!

Day trip to Frejus. Whilst the historic town area was 'ok' cannot say worth a return visit as cannot compare to laces nearer our Antibes base. Anyway whilst there we selected 'a table' for lunch tased on TA reviews and were not disappointed. It is very small and a little outside the main Rea (only a few minutes walk). Sat outside and I had duck leg with potato whilst the others shared a goats salad and nice home made chips.

Fantastic. The most friendly welcome. We are wine makers and when we asked for advice were recommended the cheapest wine on the menu, which was great. We ate the menu du jour (moules marinères) with the dessert du jour (fondant choco poire) and homemade profiteroles. When we asked for a dessert wine, we were presented with a bucket of muscat each, which was also delicious. We were also recommended, earlier in our visit, to eat at L'Amandier, a restaurant round the corner. The staff were friendly but we had a hair in our very dry apperitif cake and were placed, bizarrely at the back of the windowless restaurant with the other two occupied tables. Nobody sat in the front three tables that had natural light? We paid far more and felt shut away from the world. We would recommend wholeheartedly this simple little treasure and we will return!bonjour!!!!!Merci beaucoup pour votre choix.

This review is 50% for Roquebune-sur-Argens and 50% for Evelyne. We come to Roquebrune once a year and love it. It's one of the most authentic non-pretentious villages in the South Of France. Maybe it's because it's inland, away from the coast and crowds. It's a working, lived in village and a relief from the upturned noses of Le Cote d'Azur. It's friendly if you are. It's so quiet and sums up all of the best things about France... a medieval square with a great regular cafe that makes the perfect cafe au lait or draft beer or Pastis. Watch the footy or just listen for the hourly church bells. We went here for our coffee after Evelyne. We rang in advance on the Sat morn and booked for Sat lunch. Got a lovely table for 4 outside. We were all completely unadventurous and went for lamb steaks and chips. Lamb cooked perfectly (medium rare with Rosemary) and chips you rarely get in France - like the english ones your mum (or dad if he was good) used to make. Well-done and lots of salt. Deserts, like the mains, were simple - crepes, strawberries and cream etc. Home cooked food kept simple and cooked perfectly is what Evelyne is about. Meal with half a carafe of rose (& cokes for the kids) for 2 adults and 2 children (mains and desert) came to â¬60 or £45. Our Frank (8) described his lamb as 'legendary'. I don't want to over-do-it as it's the simplicity of Roquebrune and Evelyne that does it for us every time. Just about perfect. 4 stars only because I'm a realistic (expect the worst and hope for the best).
