My son snuck in an ice cream fix after we grabbed dinner. He LOVES ice-cream and picked the raspberry cheesecake flavor. I was surprised my son actually threw it away. He said it really wasn't good...Oh well ice-cream is better than no ice-cream :)

We wanted to extend the warmest thank you from Oregon to your restaurant staff and kitchen. We were traveling and as vegans that seems to be hard through Utah. When we got to your destination in Idaho. We were over whelmed with the delicious and nutritious meal you served us. The entire menu looked amazing and would entertain the meat eaters as well. A extra thank you to your mixologist and wine buyer as well.

Lava Hot Springs was a delightful surprise. We stayed overnight on a return trip from Yellowstone. Taking a walk downtown looking for a dinner place, "hand tossed pizza" caught our attention. The dining area has a bar, ample tables, and a few TV's. We ordered a veggie w/ pepperoni and it was delicious. The crust was crisp (not a fan of floppy pizza) and flavorful. The server was friendly and attentive, and the only person working the floor. The building itself is an old hotel and it was to cool see the exposed brick walls, wood floors. Lots of charm.

After slow cooking ourselves in the hot springs pool we stopped by the Chuck wagon for lunch. Right away my son sees the Deep fried Bacon and Jalapeno Burger and that sounded pretty good. It was such a good burger! The menu had so many choices and lunch is served until closing. There was a sign at the counter that said local musicians get together and jam on Tuesday evenings.

I tried the massaman curry. Made and served by a guy that had the demeanor of a caveman. My brother had a real tired looking plate of sticky noodles with some old chicken mixed in. I truly hope he does not get sick tonight. Spotless old gas station on a busy highway with an elevated train way too close for comfort. Run.

Why haven't we been here before?! That's what we said when we left. Our server was out-of-this-world friendly, and helpful! So much fun chatting with her. 78 Main will definitely cater to your dietary needs. Our server suggested fresh lemon squeezed on the baked potato, since I can't have dairy. Mind blown!!!! Had to have been the BEST baked potato I have ever had! It was also the biggest baked potato I've ever had, and sooooo fresh! Portions are very hearty, and a great value. My husband tried their fries. Turned out to be some of the best fries he's ever had. Fresh cut, lightly seasoned, cooked to perfection.
The ambience is laid back bar/restaurant, but still nice, if that makes sense. Pretty plants in the windows, good views of town, and a few TV's going for sports enthusiasts. I'd say this place has something for everyone. The dessert menu looked pretty amazing, but didn't have room to try anything. I'd go back to 78 Main in a heartbeat!

Thanks!! Previously wrote review so not sure why I'm being asked to review again. Local referred to this being the rowdiest bar in town, not sure about that claim. However, they have the best burgers in town and offer a barbecue evening that can't be beat!!

This restaurant has a beautiful building, decked with flower baskets all around, and ample seating outside in the front and back. We were excited to eat here, and the reviews were great.
The reviews were wrong.
The service is abysmal- we were not given menus or silverware, and it took us going after them to get them.
The food was poor to horrible - the grilled cheese sandwich bread was rock hard, with congealed cheese. It looked like it sat out for 2 days.
The fries were meh, and the tiny portions of ketchup and fry sauce tasted strange.
Everything was expensive, to boot!
All three of us loved the view, hated the food and lack of service.
A terrible experience!!

Last year I had a bad experience here but this year they have really gone the extra mile and I have to give them credit where credit is due. I have to say that I've tasted homemade cinnamon rolls before but I had breakfast at the Wagon Wheel on Saturday morning and I've got to tell you that it was the best Cinnamon roll I've ever eaten! I even got one to go. They are HUGE, and soft and with just the right amount of icing. What made it even better is that they were BUSY! But our server was wonderful! Our tea, coffee and soft drinks and water were never empty and she was grace under pressure, Never cranky and I loved her Shirt. Its said Thank you, Thank you Thank you all the way down the front. The owners were lovely and it was a great visit. If you want to taste a WONDERFUL thing, go to the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Lava Hot Springs and order a Cinnamon roll. But go earlier to avoid the rush. OH YEA, the Scones are good too!
