We are still at the time of this review staying in Rodalquilar. We have travelled extensively in southern Spain and speak reasonable Spanish. We have never been made more unwelcome than in this bar.Service poor price high and Tapas dreadful.Don't go and hope it closes!

It has to be the best restaurant in Las Negras, all the details are there and the setting couldn't be more perfect. It certainly doesn't make the cheap eats guide but there's no doubting the quality of the food and the wines are reasonably priced for a good restaurant.
My wife went for the grilled sardines for a starter and I have the octopus.... both were superb.
Steak followed for me cooked over hot coals and was exceptionally good, tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. My wife had slow cooked squid in olive oil which also was very tender and delicious.
No room for dessert we ended with just coffee.
Would go back anytime but at 110 euros it was on the expensive side.
Also well worth trying the tapas bar underneath for great tapas and a lovely outdoor setting right next to the beach.

We had not reserved which in the advancing summer season is unwise but a table inside was found. The courtyard and the upper floor are the better spots. Reservation will secure you one. Our problem was the service. It happened if you the customer made it happen. I've never been a restaurant where so much summoning by waving an empty bottle or the menu card was necessary to get service. The issue was lack of perhaps one more waiter or the more active involvement of one of the men who could have been the owner or manager. The wait staff worked like beavers and always responded rapidly to requests once they had noticed the waving. The Spinach pizza I has was good. Both my grandsons ate theirs faster than ever. The desserts are not made on the premises and most if not all in a factory. They are not even average. My advice is quit without dessert and get an ice cream from the outlets that exist in Las Negras.

Very friendly staff, who can also speak English and Italian. One pizza and a small salade is enough for two hungry people! The parmasan and rocket salade was delious, the perfect accompaniment to a pizza. Although, the flavours in the salade are not varied enough to eat a stand alone dish. On returning to this restaurant for a takeaway I received a complementary beer and olive tapas, along with some friendly banter, a guide book and advice about the area. Reasonably priced.

I lived in this small town for all my childhood, and it´s became a wonderful place. This restaurant was back in time an old fisherman house, simple, very humble. Today, everything keeps the simplicity of old ages but oh my gosh, they still make food as then. This is a family-owned restaurant, and they may have some gaps here and there when serving but you can talk with them and fix it (I say this after Reading some complains). For example, if the paella is a little bit burned out on the bottom, don´t complain, THAT´S HOW WE DO PAELLA IN Spain, we call it "churrascao". Give it a try! I ordered what I cannot find here in the States, like gamba roja (local shrimps), cazón en adobo (marinated fish), or a simple salad with no greasy dressing on top. They were out of mussels, damn!
Wonderful views, relaxing lifestyle. Life is good hanging out here. I wish I have another opportunity soon to come back to this place.

A convenient and welcoming location for a good cheap coffee or drink and tapas. There is usually a good variety of home made tapas on offer and a family atmosphere as the bar is run by a young local couple with young children.
Various clubs and groups meet there and you may be invited to play bridge or spanish dominoes or join the intercambio group where spanish and English meet to help each other with their respective languages.

Fantastic place run by two charming sisters. They offer you a choice of delicious tapas whenever you order a drink. The mojitos are generously served and tasty. The best place to relax in this very little holiday town.

We were about to take a drink, and check the menu as we might have lunch. They told us that no table was available if we were only for a drink (despite they had around 20 tables and only 3 were taken). Great view of business.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, so inventive and unusual but completely delicious. The decor inside is mad but really fun. We had anchovies and cured cheese to start which was fantastic, really unusual favours but it all worked really well. For our mains, we shared octopus and tuna steaks - both delicious. The portions are really big, we probably didn't need the starter but we were glad to have it as it was so nice. The staff are very friendly, and we thought it was good value for such high quality food. Definitely recommend when visiting lovely Las Negras.

This homely restaurant was recommended to us by the locals of Las Negras. Dont expect a flashy modern restaurant, this place is a typical spanish bar/restaurant which serves the most beautifully cooked homemade spanish cuisine. Everything is highly recommended. Excellent friendly service with a smile. A must for those passing through.
