The northern most part of Finland, Lapland, is the magical arctic region full of contrasts. In fact, contrasts are a key factor in the allure of Lapland where 24-hour sunlight in the summer replaces the dark winter days filled with Northern Lights.
Every season in Finnish Lapland is uniquely different from each other. The inhabitants of the region say that Lapland actually has 8 seasons instead of 4. In the wintertime, Lapland is as close as reality gets to those who dream of a winter wonderland. Spring brings along light that follows the long season of ‘kaamos’ (arctic night in Finnish). During the spring time, the snow covered hills and fells offer exciting experiences for all winter outdoors enthusiasts from skiiers to snowshoe walkers.
Summer in Lapland is a season like no other – there are endless white nights and peaceful arctic nature as far as the eye can see. Summer’s glow is followed by the majestic season of fall when Lapland gets its truly iconic ‘ruska’ colors. This is the best season to go for a hike in one of Lapland’s many national parks. It is meditation and mindfullness all wrapped in one in one of the world’s most unique and breath-taking sceneries. And don’t forget the best and purest air and water this planet has to offer.
After you have recharged in nature, Lapland also offers other interesting places to visit. Meet Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, try one (or two!) of Lapland’s great restaurants, visit a reindeer or a husky farm, venture out to a quirky festival or go look for gold.
Finnish Lapland is all this and more.

Hotel-standard cottage accommodation at the Arctic Circle, heart of Santa Claus Village. Our cabins are all equipped with up-to-date facilities, such as private saunas, bathrooms, kitchenette and terrace. There's no better way to enjoy your stay. From your cabin just a minute or two walk to Santa Claus Main Office. All activities & excursions, such as Reindeer rides, Husky dog sledge rides, snowmobile rides, etc.. available on the village.
Our first night in Lapland we stayed here in a perfect cottage. All you need is available, the beds are very well, also the bathroom with a sauna in it, was okay. It's not a holiday season at the moment, butt we had a pleasant stay. When we came in the heating was already on, the cottage is near all the availabilities of father christmas. Also a restaurant is open. The breakfast in Santa's house was okay. Next time we stay here again !

My initial feeling for the hotel was quite bad. That was solly based on Booking.coms communication. The hotel was actually quite a lot more than promised. The cabin was spacious, new and clean. The personel very friendly and polite. The restaurant was at least a four star experience. This hotel I can easily recommend to anybody who has taste and values high quality.

Great location near the pedestrianized shopping area. Had 2 types of rooms the arctic room was huge and spacious while the polar room with sauna seemed smaller because of a wall between the sofa area and the bed. But you get 2 TVs due to the wall. Rooms were beautifully decorated and the polar bear wallpaper reminded you that you are in the arctic. Bed was comfortable and air-conditioning kept the room cool. Three provided toiletries and bathrobes/slippers were luxurious. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection but did not appear to offer fresh juices. The car park was quite full even during the low summer season. Overall a wonderful stay.

Fantastic resort, beautiful igloos, delicious meals. Loved the husky safari and reindeer sled rides. We say incredible aroma borealis shows. The hospitality was amazing and the location was perfect. Even the sauna after a cold day was awesome. I highly recommend this place.

The hotel was fab, very central with easy access to busses to Santa Claus Village and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfast offered lots of choice, our favourite being the really fresh breads and pastries. Rooms are warm, modern and very clean. Beds were cosy. Reception staff were very friendly and so helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Santasport is a centre for sports and wellbeing in Rovaniemi offering a variety of activities in the middle of naturally beautiful northern nature, close to the Arctic Circle. We offer a vast range of services for sports and other activities to travelers, families, athletes and business groups. Our accommodation options are versatile from single rooms to luxury cabins. Santasport is located 2km from Rovaniemi city centre.
Stayed here for 3 nights with 4 kids and had a brilliant time! First it must be noted that Santasport is a sports training resort/centre and not a 5 star hotel, if you are ok with this then you'll have a great time! We stayed in a Hotel suite for 6 with a sauna in the main building and used the excellent swimming pool each day, as well as the kids play centre multiple times. We ate breakfast (self service buffet) each morning which was fine for us (again, don't expect a full English) with porridge, beads, cheeses, fruits etc as well as bacon, small sausages and scrambled eggs. We also ate on the evening time, which was equally good value at €11 per adult for self service buffet. The resorts position is less than 10 minutes walk to the supermarket and about 25 minutes into the city or to the ski slopes. Buses are rare and so other than walking you'd need to take a taxi. Will definitely recommend this hotel and hope to be back one summer too.

We requested a chalet near the river and got one just back from it. It was very quiet when we stayed in February. It was clean and compact, the kids loved sleeping upstairs and the beds were huge. We had breakfast which was busy, but everything was restocked as it went down, and there was a good selection. The kids liked the waffle maker. Perfect for one night, to be near the airport.

Contemporary hotel situated in downtown Rovaniemi, in the heart of Finnish Lapland.
We stayed one weekend night at Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Rovaniemi. The hotel's staff were friendly and willing to serve. Our standard room was nice, very clean and quiet. The room temperature was quite warm but we enjoyed it after the day spent outside. Parking in a garage was cheap (12 €/day) and the hotel's location was very good. The breakfast was also very good and included some tasty Lapland foods.
